Jack's 321 . . . should I switch?

@StonedCold13
Anytime
That recipe is straight from @imSICKkid
And if you have seen his grows absolutely fire :fire::fire::fire:
But he adds tribus original to the mix
Any questions don’t hesitate to ask.:+1:

This is exactly why I never made the switch . . . advertise 3 parts, yet their own nutrition/feed charts lists 6 and almost everyone seems to add something (or many somethings). Same thing I found when I considered FloraPro . . . 3 parts, but only use 2 parts at a time dependent on growth stage.

From everything I’ve read, Jack’s is just a good base nutrient . . . but then so is GH Flora Trio, FF, AN, etc.

Weighing out dry grams would harder for me than drawing ml’s into a syringe . . . so it really wouldn’t simplify anything for me. I cut a piece of 1/4" clear airline about an inch or two longer than the bottle is tall . . . when I take the cap off it springs up and I just stick the tip of a syringe in the airline and draw what I need.

Everyone’s main focus when it comes to Jack’s seems to be “cheap.” Cost really doesn’t matter in my case, I’m a small scale, personal use only grower . . . even the most expensive nutrients would be cheaper than buying weed at the dispensary.

That’s a great reason to use, I bought 25 pound bags of part A and part B. I will probably never need to buy nutrients again. :+1:

That’s not any different from most lines. I’m using straight Jack’s 321. I do use Tribus in Veg, and switch to fulvic acid during flower. Fairly simple. Everyone can decide if they want to supplement with other additives, regardless of whether it’s Jack’s or other nutrient lines.

@dbrn32 pointed out that JR Peter’s have been selling agricultural products for years. Initially they resisted marketing to cannabis cultivation. The products they sold were designed to provide everything a plant needs. Once they did start marketing to cannabis market suddenly they decided you needed several different formulas to grow great cannabis, not much different from other cannabis nutrient lines, right.

Everyone will decide what they are happy with, based on what they think is most important to them. For me simplicity is the most important thing and Jack’s 321 has allowed me to do that. I’ve been extremely satisfied with Jack’s, simplicity, cost and results. I don’t specifically advocate anyone switch to Jack’s unless they are wanting the find nutrients that does the 3 things above :+1:

Idk how much you paid for a 6# kit but i was looking around on amazon and it made more sense to just buy the 25# bags. Was 110$ for 2 25# bags and regular epson salt+tax. The only bad thing about the kits that people make an resell is that they are charging you an arm and a leg for the epson salt. The 2lb bags were only about 20$ cheaper than the bigger ones. But a 2# kit was 37$. I have seen a lot of people say great things about it so i figured i’d give it a go.

Jacks 321 kits are much cheaper on ebay for those that want to try it before buying huge quantities.

6lb kit for $28.75

Everything is high on Amazon. Free shipping is never free.

I got the 7lb kit from ebay while back and it’s like I barely touched it. I also use Jack’s 321 because of Sick journal and Afgvet love the results they get.

Thank you for this info, just purchased this to try, been using AN for years with good results as you know, but it’s time to try this.
I only have 2 auto’s in a tent going now as I was having major WPM issues in my rooms. Now they are being rebuilt with many upgrades. So I have some time to experiment with Jacks.

Sorry this is what I purchased, to much LA I guess

Just made organic tea for the first time and used molasses as pH down. Fed a few plants and will monitor and if I like the results I’m dropping fox farm nutes for good.

I initially ordered a triple pack of FF bottled nutes. After looking at the feeding schedules, the other 5-10 bottles I would need later, and the flushing schedule I ordered some jacks 321. It takes me less than 5 min to mix up a gal with the three parts and if I add any micros it maybe takes another 20 seconds each to measure and add as those are by weight or volume.

I get what you mean, Jacks 321 plus this plus that, but honestly just taking out the soil flushes will save you tons of time. Plus adding something additional to jacks is usually a hell of a lot cheaper than ordering another big bottle of nutes. The 2lbs kit of jacks and the 4 pack of micros I used was still under $50 and will last me probably a year plus!

I’m not knocking liquid nutrients, but you are really just paying for water with a little nutrients mixed in. But like I was saying earlier everyone can decide what and how they want to grow. The most important thing is that we can help each other be successful.

I grow in 70/30 coco & perlite. I feed to runoff multiple times a day . . . feeding is automated and waste is plumbed to the basement sump, or a catch pan if adjusting timers, checking runoff, etc. There are times that I don’t open the grow room door for 2-3 days at a time, just ph reservoir every 3 days, mix a new batch roughly every 5 days (depending on plant uptake) and I know that all is well. And the girls seems happier when I’m not constantly messing with them.

I am familiar with the Lucas formula previously mentioned by @dbrn32 above, and use the MaxiBloom version on other plants. I have strawberries, tomatoes, herbs, succulents and even a couple of flowers growing in the basement and that is a lot more work than the weed I grow. Getting rid of the extra garden is what will save me a lot of time. But the wife claims to grow that stuff, although, like a hired gardener I have to care for it, and she takes credit for good results and wants to know how I messed up if something dies. Was just yesterday that I told her I was going to be phasing some of the extras out and focusing on cannabis. Means the new light that I don’t need, but want, will likely be delayed. And the strawberry spot apparently isn’t going anywhere either . . .

Sounds like an awesome setup. I will eventually have an automated watering system, but still a ways from that.
I don’t even PH or PPM anymore. Just hot water to mix everything up in and then some cold to top off to bring temp down for watering every 2-3 days. I check on mine more often as I like to take pictures each morning for my journal and to see how she’s growing.

I mixed up one feed of fox farms trio and then ended up dumping it all and ordering jacks 321. Been on that for a few weeks now and Manda loves it.

@Hellraiser I’ve started my jacks at your recommendation and doing really well, they are starting to flower, and my question is during flower do you add any boosters? I do have AN line of nutrients, or is there anything else?
