Can somebody break down the actual Jacks 321 product? Provide a link or picture to what that Jacks product is/looks like, what would I purchase? I’m confused to how their products work. If a feeding schedule is included that would be greatly appreciated!
Weird mixing order. Anyone mix this way?
Not me. I usually mix 2 gallons at a time. I dissolve and dilute each component - A, epsom, and B - in three separate containers. Then each solution plus more water goes into the 2-gal. container in the same order until I hit the 2-gal. mark. Nothing special; just tap water and 3-2-1 at pennies per feed. EC, ppm, and pH (when I take them) have always been nominal. That’s the beauty of Jack’s - simple, inexpensive, and effective.
I was asking about the link shared. Weird order.. it says silica, part b, part a, then Epsom. Never seen that.
Sounds Like you are doing it right. Good on you for diluting each part!
I go through a couple hundred lbs of jacks (a and b combined) per year. Sometimes more.
I mix each part individually (like you) in 1 gallon containers.
Fill res to around 50-53 gallons of RO, add Epsom (lowest ppm and most reactive with part b)… mix…
Run part a water concentrate through a mesh filter (for sediment) tied into res… mix…
Then I do part b.. mix.
The order is odd. Then elsewhere, it says EC/ppm measurements cited taken before silica.
The kilo bags of Jack’s will likely out last me. My max capacity for vegging/flowering plants is 4-6. Probably have 2 lb cured from spring auto grow.
Kinda am curious to try it. lol
Respectable haul my friend, keep on keeping on ![]()
I pay no attention to mixing order. I just grabbed a schedule that I found online.
Good tip about the Epsom/part B reactivity; I didn’t know that. I haven’t had any problems (yet), but I’ll start with Epsom from here on out to be on the safe side.
I also wipe off my spoon and scale pan in between measuring the individual parts to preempt any potential negative reactivity.
I made a similar mistake once while mixing CX Horticulture liquids when I didn’t rinse my syringe in between measuring parts A, B, and additives. Just that little bit of residual liquid concentrate FUBARed the 2-gallon mix with solid precip and I had to discard it.
Probably okay as long as the individual parts are completely dissolved and sufficiently diluted separately before final mixing together.
I have to mix A, Epsom, then B to keep it clear, lately been dissolving each part in water separately. I got out of order once and it looked like one of those snow globes, flakes everywhere and wouldn’t dissolve. I think I added Epsom last that time and it didn’t work out. Separately, I have it down to so many grams of each, dump in res and fill. Already know what the PPMs and PH will be , the res makes it much easier to keep plenty ready.
It’s all good. I was more or less inquiring if you’ve ever seen that before. I know one of his first charts he released.. I followed it and every batch turned to milk. was told I shouldn’t be following his charts. imSICKkid almost showed up and straightened me out
. LOL
