Do you run part a and b all the way until the end or switch to 7-15-30 the last two weeks before harvest ?
I currently have the 321 mix and switched to jack late flower from ff but i see some people say they use part a and b until the end
A , B and epsom the whole way my friend.
Oops, I thought I was posting the chart that @MrRobot posted. So he’s got you covered. However in both charts Jacks only suggests finish feed for the last 2weeks or so. My buds are stacking well with this Jacks stuff. I love it.
I believe it’s all 3 parts plus the finish feed for the last 2 weeks. The second and third parts are Calsium Nitrate and Epsom salts or magnesium sulphate. Thus no real need to add cal mag supliments during flowering.
I don’t own a single gram of the 7-15-30, and jacks has been successful long before the finisher or the “new” chart became available. That being said, i have tweaked on the recipe throughout grow and you probably don’t need to feed all the way up to harvest. Every grow and situation can work out differently, so hard to nail down a one size fits all answer. Under most circumstances you can be successful with just the 5-12-26, 15-0-0, and epsom. From there you just keep an eye on whats going on with plants and tweak as necessary. If you grow long enough, you’ll probably find some plants and/or conditions that want more or less nutrients. And you’ll also probably have some that look great no matter what they get.
That 7-15-30 finish feed came with the bundled Jacks that I picked up on EBay. I made the decision to go with Jacks before knowing how well the 3 main parts would perform. I’m growing high CBD plants and the sugar on the buds is making me smile right now, and later too I’m sure.
I don’t know how much improvement 2 weeks of that finish feed could make. But perhaps I’ll try it with one plant and not the other.
The 7-15-30 is very similar to 5-12-26. Outside of small but obvious npk difference the sulfur content is higher in the finish than the hydroponic blend. The “finish” was originally marketed as Aquagold Finisher, and was used to substitute the 5-12-26 by many with plenty of success. At one time the aquagold finisher was available in 25# bags for $35, which seems like no brainer. Those that have been around a while or have the knowledge to break down chemical analysis will typically just use original 321 recipe but increase epsom to raise sulfur.
Doesn’t make using either way right or wrong, just a different way to skin the cat so to speak. If you look at elemental concentration of 5-12-26 vs 7-15-30 it’s fairly easy to pick out. The biggest difference is the sulfur content. Hard to blame them really, basic marketing strategy.
So then the 7-15-30 is not in addition to the part A, but in substitute for part A. Right?
I suppose it could be used together, but the intended use is to use them separately.
Thanks!
So @dbrn32 , I’ve increased the cal nit and Epsom salts just a bit now in week4 of flowering. Is that the kind of formula tweaking you referred to?
Sure, if you feel like plants needed it then make small adjustments and try to track your results.
Thanks you have always been very helpful.
So im running ro water do i still need to add calmag when im doing watering only or can i get away with just giving the plant calmag when i feed the plants
I use 1g/gal of Epsom salts the entire grow.
You using ro water?
This is what works for me.
Part A - 3.6g/gal
Epsom salts - 1.0g/gal
Part B - 2.4g/gal
This is my recipe the entire grow EXCEPT the first 21days of flower.
For this period it is
Part A - 2.0g/gal
Epsom salts - 2.0g/gal
Part B - 2.0g/gal
NPK - 1.2g/gal
At week 4 i start adding homemade Terpinator that @dbrn32 told me about.
I have run several grows with this recipe with NO problems. Sometimes i won’t even check ppm and ph for a couple of weeks. Then when I check , everything is good.
On this grow, I am adding Liquid Kool Bloom at 1.25ml/gal just to see if it makes any difference.
To me, Jack’s 3-2-1 is a no brainer. Super simple, and so much less expensive.
Which npk are you using?
