Jack Herer 3 day old seedlings

Saturated 5 gal fabric pot of Ocean Forrest and a 16oz core of Light Warrior with 1gal of Ph 7 water. Dec 30th. No runoff. Planted Jack Herer Auto Jan1. Seedlings broke ground Jan. 4th. Top soil is getting dry so yesterday I watered using 1/2 cup in a circle 3” from plant. Basically watered the core of light warrior. Figured I would repeat this when that area became dry again. As long as it’s dry to like 1 inch and not just on top you’ll be good. Good luck :deciduous_tree: :sunglasses:

Do you use a moisture meter to monitor the soil?

No they are inaccurate
When young put your finger in the soil to the 2nd knuckle to feel for mosture.

But learn to monitor the pot by weight. Lift it up that’s the best way to tell

That’s one tool I have not purchased yet. I haven’t seen many references to them. But it seems to me to be a valuable option. My problem right now is trying to gauge how moist or dry that 16 oz center core of Light Warrior is without stressing the seedling. Thanks for reminding me about the tool.

I have been lifting since I watered the 5 Gal fabric pot of soil with 1gal of water. I was expecting to see runoff but there has not been any. I have noticed some weight loss but was concerned that the top was getting to dry for the tiny seedlings. I appreciate your help. Please continue to watch over me, I know I will have many concerns as I go through the next 2 months.

Welcome to the community of growing !

A picture will help us judge the situation.

Remeber tap roots go down very fast.

Here are photos of 4 1/2 day old seedlings. They broke ground at the same time. Within 24 hrs the difference in size was noticeable. Sorry if these are to large, I didn’t see s size option

Nice setup!

A couple tips
Just give a little water In a circle around the plant, they are to small for runoff yet.

You may have to bring your fan below your light, to ensure it attaches well to the pvc use pipe insulation (foam) works well. Ensure a nice little shake of your plants, builds strong plants.

Also bring your temp/humidity sensor to the canopy level, so for now to your pot tops.

Looking good
