It's only a test - II

Oops, the above is four weeks.

Did a little defoliating, just the lower stuff shading the tops of the bags, and preventing air flow through the plant. Broke a limb  wasn’t bad, I expect it to heal, but sheezzz… what goofy ass. Teflon tape to the rescue.

@ShureGreen

I just finished adding a fourth fertigation to my girls schedule.

I pick them up, every couple days, just prior to feeding. They slowly get lighter. They weren’t drying out, but it was taking longer to get the run off. I added 10 seconds twice already so rather than bigger cycles, I dropped my times but added an event. The increase in overall time is only 30 seconds, but they have fresher nutrients throughout daylight hours.

You mentioned quarts, are you hand watering?

Week 5

Didn’t take long and I can tell I’ll need to add another fertigation event. Girls are thirsty!

Took some foliage off the bottom of them, they’ll need more removed pretty soon.

One more day on the res. The next batch I’ll up part A 10%.

@Kfeather I may not have answered what you were actually asking the first time so…

For my waste I blacked out the bottom of a cheap wal mart tote, (was clear with white lid) and put a pond pump wired to a float switch, inside. When the tote is deep enough, pump sends the waste to drain.

Between nutrient batches, I clean the res with mild bleach water. I hand pour some of that through the waste sump system.

If you look at the pics you may see the tote and some lines on the left back side of the tent.

Kinda cheasy… but it works good.

Little defoliation this morning. Before and after’s.

Over the next month I’ll slowly trim it down until it’s mostly colas.
Or at least thats the plan.

The one in the back right, is absolutely covered in buds. The inside of the bush is so thick with buds it’s crazy. Hard opening it up for air flow. Even though I know those little buds won’t amount to much of anything. Still gets me.

Week 6
Not a huge jump from week 5 to 6. But they sure look good. Bumped part A up a bit.

Little more trimming.

One of the three is gorgeous  the other two aren’t slouches! Sugars coming in, time to bump up the silica.

7 weeks. (yesterday)

The cola above is covered in sugar, the pic doesn’t do it justice.

Like most folks I suppose, I’ve been tweaking my set up a bit as I progress through this grow. I set up a carbon filter to exhaust the tent into the lung room, but left the duct and filter in the attic so I can switch back and forth as needed.

The weather here is just right to force me to adjust environment controls daily. For me that means A/C, two dehumidifiers, door open or closed for the lung room, heat on or off for the house… etc.

It’s got me look’n hard at AC Infinity’s terraform.

May be hands on more than I want… but the results aren’t too bad :winking_face_with_tongue:

The friggen weather…

I can laugh now because I found a solution for a problem I’ve been fighting. I use a small window unit for my lung room. Works great, unless the weather gets to cool. AC units shouldn’t be ran below 60f ambient temps. We are bouncing in the low 40’s last night / tonight.

I’ve tried several different techniques but they’ve all been a huge PIA.

Until now… lol… I remembered all the heat lamps I have for our chickens and ducks… now I have one tied to the back lower part of the AC. I’m sure the neighbors will think I’ve lost my mind.

We have a low close to teens tomorrow… we’ll see.

Terraform 12, becoming more obvious. :face_with_peeking_eye: :money_mouth_face:

Thank you!

I’ve already made to many mistakes for it to be anything but a test. :anxious_face_with_sweat: The test will be to see if the corrections were made in time.

Mistake #1
Jacked up the ppfd to keep the girls shorter, flower started so I reduced PPFD… or so I thought. Apparently, when picking up my phone, I bumped the slider on the AC infinity app and actually increased the PPFD.

I always put my glasses on when opening the tent, so visually it’s really hard to see the difference. When the tent was open I left the room, took the eye protection off, walked back in the room before putting the glasses on and realized, holy crap, this seem bright, it was. PPFD was around 970. It ran this way for a while, now I have nubbs of foxtail starting all over the buds.

Mistake #2
Allowed myself to become distracted, and left the epsom out of a nute batch, it ran this way for 4 1/2 days. Not sure if what I’m seeing is from which one of those screw ups.

Overall it’s still looks good… hopefully the corrections happened in time.

PH - 5.82
EC - 1537
PPFD - 622
Temps - 69 -78
RH - 46 - 52

Hey, this is week 8, I’ll get some pics.
