Hi anyone have a idea if this is a good light for a 447 at all stages? It’s on sale and wondering if I should grab two. Any help is appreciated thank you.
The sale is like $45 for one I think. Need help before the sale is gone!

I’d hold off and save to buy a QB light. Blurple a will do okay in veg but produce light “larfy” buds in flowering. At the very least research MarsHydro I know some people on here use them. Just my opinion though.
Yeah, that’s a no from me. Put your money towards some good lights, not those. The light is the most important thing in a grow, don’t cheap out on that.
@ReconBravo @Hellraiser What light is advised for a 4x4? I was going to get one cause my local hydro store dude was just trying to get rid of something’s since he has been shut down for weeks and doesn’t know when he will open back up. At $50 would they be atleast good for a veg tent?
And I have a Mars in my 4x4 now and honestly I was bout to return it and all this craziness started going on I think my vivosun is and my kingled are doing alot better but that might also just be the strain that I have them over.
Thank appreciate the advice.
It really depends on your budget. Good lights aren’t cheap. You can cut cost by doing your own DIY build if your up to it. It’s really not that difficult if you did decide to try. The best advice I can give you is Take Your Time and ask a lot of questions. You get what you put into it that’s for sure I’ll tag @dbrn32 to help with the lighting for your size tent. At 50$ I would buy 1 for at least starting seeds and vegging. The lights just don’t preform for producing solid buds in my experience
I think the other members are right. Mars, king, and the light you’re looking at all use the same stuff. One may be a little bigger or whatever, but pretty much same performance per watt.
If you want a good light, definitely an increase in cost. Check out horticulture lighting group, chilled tech, or fluence bioengineering.
@dbrn32 I couldn’t remember your tag thanks what horticulture light would you advise for 4x4? Im using budget lighting as I’m just learning but I’m ready to move on up a level and use this first setup for vegging. Thanks again for the help.
The hlg-550 is fixture designed for 4x4, but you can do a little better and save a few bucks going with two qb 260 xl kits. The xl kits spread the boards out a little, gives more even intensity levels.
For $45 its not a bad light. I expect it draws 125-150w at the wall. Flowering a 4’x4’ tent with these would require 6-7 of them though, and they’re not cheap to run.
There are better lights. They cost more initially, but in the long run they cost less and produce better bud.
I use two HLG 260xl rspec in my 4x4 tent and it was worth the investment. Just one of my plant paid for the two lights since I would have to drive 2200 miles per trip so I can get better quality weed.
Does the kit come with everything and is it hard to put together? Going to take a look and see what they cost.
Ya if you buy the kit should come with everything. Maybe you would want ratcheting hangers or something, those would be extra. There are assembly videos on YouTube, average cat could have one together in an hour or two easily.
@dbrn32 I’m looking at them now might grab one next week and get another in a couple months. Chilled tech or fluence what would you consider the best for the price? Bout to take a look at the others but I know you speak very highly of the hq
If you don’t mind doing a little bit of assembly the chilled tech kits look like a really good value. Watch the assembly video and see if its something you feel comfortable doing.
Yikes lol that price lil but you think that would be a better deal than the two qb260? Going to let the government buy this light anyway might as well do it big.
Either way I think you’d be in good shape.
Economic stimulus at its best.
Lol 45$ is cheap enough u cld chance it n buy one without reserching I’d say, that is if the sale is that limited I meen
I have been moving away from lights with built in fans. they draw way more power. I have two vipspectra 450W two stage lights. with both fans and both drivers running the light draws around 350 watts at the wall in one grow. and I am running two Mars Hydro ts 1000 in another grow and they only draw around 400 combined at plug.
