Is a four inch vent fan big enough

I only got a 5’x 3’ tent 80” tall I see there’s lots more 6” and 8” fans for sale on Amazon. What size is good for my tent ? I am just dropping straight down and go out a window. Probably won’t have over 6 or 8’ of vent hose

I’d recommend a 6" diameter exhaust for that size tent.

When I started with tents, it was a 4x4… Especially if your light gives off a lot of heat… You’ll need to move more air quickly… A 4" didn’t cut it.

I’d also recommend AC Infinity. They last, quiet, reliable and great quality. Will need a charcoal filter if you don’t want the smell pumped out.

This would be one way to look at it with a variable speed You could run a 6 inch at medium speed an the 4 inch will need to run on high speed. 6 inch on lower speed will be less noise. Personally I would go with a 6 inch Exhaust fan.
Good luck

Sounds like what I’m going through now, a 4x4 and the 4" was only good enough when it was half full. Now the tent’s nearly full there’s no way to get enough air and I’m in danger of losing my grow right now, while the bigger they grow the bigger the problem gets

@Jaysittinback whats the signs your not getting enough fresh air or not exhausting enough stale air??

Big humidity swings, high temperatures. And tops droop and leaves look like they are taking a shape like when they try to close the stomata (right word?) to stop breathing.
Im still learning to read leaves but I always see this shape when my climate is screwed up. Almost like underwatering but not just droopy petioles, the crown’s leaves roll the edges and twist kinda deformed and take a thin shape.

Just starting to snap ouy of it now. Lights been on a few hours. Humidity dropped from 88 to 60 and temp came up a lot. Soon it will be too hot in there.

@Jaysittinback those leaves hanging down at top is what you think is bad? You saying they should be sticking out straight or even upward? Thanks I’m learning.

Not too bad there but it looked worse couple hours earlier.
Not so much the hanging down but the leaves shapes and they decrease their surface area.
Been noticing a few different kinds of droops. Droop during sleep, from underwatering, from root damage, all look a bit different plus keeping track of changes helps recognize each one

High heat and humidity
