Infused honey recipe anyone?

I am looking for a way to infuse honey. I have infused coconut oil, and MTC oil but not sure I want to use them for the honey. I would also think that the honey being thicker, would have to be heated up some to get it infused evenly? Any ideas or proven recipes?

Simmer the cannabis and honey together for a few hours then strain?

Thank you @Jspeach, I guess I’m thinking, but really don’t know, will the honey go through a cheesecloth?

Let me know how it turns out.

Yes, that’s what I use for my infused shine, and I put a cheesecloth over it.

Now you’ve got me thinking. Northern Lights and honey would probably taste fantastic together!

Seems pretty strait forward reading up on infusing honey online. Decarb weed at 230° for 25 to 30min remove from oven. Heat honey to no .ore than 100° add decarb ed product to honey leave set over night next day heat jar again to about 95ish which only makes the honey easier to pour strain thru cheesecloth wearing gloves u can right out the decarb ed stuff getting all or most all honey out. Watch for any particles to come thru cheese cloth while squeezing it. Mark container and store in a cool dark spot. Add to coffee tea toast or anything u would or can eat honey with or even take a spoon or 2 of honey alone. Good luck post how it went and what all looks like when all done with the project. I’m interested in this as I now have local Michigan honey I will soon be able to get hopefully. @Covertgrower infused honey buddy. Sounds like it would be good to eat early am on toast

Yes and the link above from @Jspeach is also a good one. I will experiment as soon as I get some local fresh honey, and will post the results here for your all knowledge, well at least my opinion

I’m thinking I will use my infused MTC oil so I won’t need to run the honey through a cheese cloth, just seems a little simpler to me. Just need to figure out the ratio, thinking 1 quart honey and 1 cup infused MTC oil, but that might be a little strong.
With my gummy recipe I use 1/2 cup infused MTC oil and end up with anywhere from 55 to 60 gummies.
Trial and error, until I get the potency I’m looking for.

@Caligurl or @GreenJewels would be the edibles experts. @AfgVet makes all these little things also. I would love to but so far no edibles do anything for me but make me full or a belly ache. Lol

Thanks @Mark0427
The method you described would work fine. I would probably simmer longer though (4-6 hours)
Since I have a Source turbo, I would prefer to just add my concentrate to warmed honey and stir thoroughly.

Yes, I’m thinking on using my MCT infused, I’m not sure if the infused coconut oil would give it a different taste. But I will be experimenting to see what works best and the potency. Thank you for your input.

I’d skip the oil infusion, jmho

  • Decarb the cannabis. Preheat your oven to 245ºF. Place cannabis buds on a non-stick, oven-safe tray. Cover the tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Insert the tray into the oven and set a timer for 30-40 minutes. Older, drier cannabis may require less time. (Tip: you can also set your oven to 300ºF and heat for 10 to 18 minutes, although low-and-slow is the recommended approach when decarbing to better preserve the cannabinoids.) Every 10 minutes, gently mix the buds with a light shake of the tray to expose the surface area of the buds equally.
  • Combine the cannabis and honey in a double boiler to apply gentle heat on the stove top.
  • Simmer. Maintain low heat and let the mixture simmer for at least 40 minutes. The mixture should never come to a full boil.
  • Strain the honey. Set a funnel on top of a jar and line it with cheesecloth. Once the honey has cooled off, pour it over the cheesecloth funnel and allow it to strain freely. (Tip: Squeezing the cheesecloth may push more bad-tasting plant material through).
  • Storing: Honey can be stored in a cool dark area for 1-2 months.

110-120 max for honey. A touch of lecithin. Honey does not react to a lot of heat well. Most oils i infuse are done at 175 degrees. Honey cant handle that. I also use a Levo for infusing but the premise is the same. I let honey run 2 times as long as coconut. Just me. Good infused honey rocks.

Love this one.

Ingredients:
2-5 cups honey or agave
1/2-1 ounce herbs
1 heaping tablespoon of coconut oil per cup of honey/agave (example: if using 2 cups of honey/agave use two heaping tablespoons of coconut oil)
1 tablespoon soy or sunflower lecithin

If you have an infuser, like a MBM or mighty fast etc, mix and strain it with a cheese cloth.

You can low heat it for a while on a stove or hot plate as well, just be careful not to cook it…

Ok, I’ve tried different ways, and not happy with any results yet.
The MTC infused oil doesn’t seem to bond with the honey very well, first time I put in too much MTC oil, second time I used an 8th of what I used the first time, but still see a separation between honey and oil.
I tried flower in the honey and running it through a cheesecloth and it worked but it took hours for the honey to drip through the cheesecloth and I lost about 1/8 of the honey.
So I’m still looking for a method that works, lol or is it just me?
