Infused coconut oil

So I infuse some refined coconut oil last night along with some MCT coconut oil, two separate batches. It has a very strong kind of nasty smell to it but it tastes okay but I’m wondering some ideas of what I can do with these things. Like an easy recipe to make some type of gummies or something. If anyone has any info about this please let me know. Thanks

You can use coconut oil as a direct replacement for butter in recipes. Tollhouse cookies for example. Oil is a bit harder to work with for gummies. Proper dosing would be by trial and error.

I infused coconut oil. The solid stuff and would drop some in my coffee or tea. It gets the job done. I used it measure for measure in boxed brownies and they’ll send you to space. Although I infuse low and slow for a long time after decarb

I cook with it as well. Works great to fry some eggs in for breakfast then pour the oil from the skillet over some toast. It’s the dosing that gets me….its either too much or not enough, never the happy medium

@Truetopath okay I decarbed at 240 for about 45 minutes then I infused it for probably about three and a half hours I wasn’t sure what the temperature on the stove was so could only guess and had the stove in between the simmer option and setting three. I hope that was the right way cuz I was wondering because I had my coconut oil and Bud in a mason jar and I put it in a pot full of water on the stove but whenever I would go to shake the Mason jar. Periodically I noticed it was never actually at a hard boil inside the jar. That is correct right I don’t want a hard boil I just want a few bubbles correct? Well before I decarb it was about 40 g and then after the decarb I had about 25 g to work with so I split it and made one with the MCT oil and one with refined coconut oil putting about a cup of oil to about 12 and 1/2 g of trim. What’s your thoughts on this please?

I use the Ecru machine and after decarb set it around 185°F and let it go for a minimum of 6 hours. Is it overkill probably but I’m always happy with the potentcy. As far as stove top, I don’t do it that way so sadly have nothing to offer. :call_me_hand:t2:

I use the crockpot method for a long time.I make brownies with my finished oil.As stated if brownies call for 1/2 a cup of oil use your infused oil. I’ve made a lot of brownies over the years using many different brands.I’ve found that Ghirardelli mix is in IMO the best.
Most mixes call for water as well BUT use leftover coffee or espresso instead of water. It really makes the chocolate stand out. After brownies are baked and cool cut them and wrap in Saran plastic wrap and put in gallon freezer bags.Freeze them and take out and use them as needed.
They usually take about an hour to an hour and a half to start feeling it.Side note,if your engaged with people your fine but if your not busy talking or doing something you’ll start getting sleepy.
I started making brownies to help me sleep.
I’ve found different strains have different effects.Indica heavy strains for the knockout where sativa strains tend to be more uplifting.I sleep 7 solid hours AND it has helped my wife(and me) with menopause :grimacing:.
Experiment with oil amounts to find your sweet spot.if you like your brownies more cake like add an extra egg.I like them on the strong side, I usually eat 2.
As Gump would say,”that’s all I have to say about that.”

Half cup infused oil mixed with a bag of dark chocolate morsels ( 65%cacao if you can find it). Melt in a double boiler and pour into molds to cool. They have to be kept in the fridge or freezer or they liquify easily.
