Infos needed for Coco/Perlite grow and mix

So just watered again water in was 6.0 pH
Run off was 500ppm and 800EC .
Should i up the dosage or leave it like this ?
I looked at late veg of the chart and made a lighter mix because of transplant.

Another question is it ok water in 6.0 pH
And run of 6.5pH ?

You have snswered a concern on my seedlings in straight coco.

And great comparison on morning and night time droopiness by the way.

Youngest seedling droops heavy prior to lights off, thought might be issue.

Thought, if girls are expecting lights off, :thinking:, and I know some have put autos on 24 hrs on, what has been the conclusions from these light experiments?

Plants start looking worst and leaves droopingā€¦
What could be the reason for that ?
Hope i can fix this.

@Outlaw
Maybe someone can tag someone who also grows in Coco and can help out.
Also starting to notice that the really bottom leaves getting more and more light green / yellow.
Is this a nitrogen problem after the transplant or what is causing this ?

For their age the PPMs arenā€™t terribly low, the PH is high for coco though. Feed everyday and for the next feeding go in at 600 and 5.6, catch a sample after about 1/2 a cup has ran out the bottom and test. I never test the 1st of the run off, I like to catch a sample where I think it came from the middle or lower of the root zone versus the bottom of the pot where the nutrients may have settled :love_you_gesture:

Drooping is generally related to over or underwatering and with coco the over part isnā€™t a concern. Some of the paleness in the leaves resemble some deficiency in nitrogen. Bump up your nutrients :love_you_gesture:

Not sure of the results from 24/0. I do run my seedlings at 24/0 then 18/6 through harvest on autos and flip photos to 12/12 when Iā€™m happy with the growth and training :love_you_gesture:

We are trying to learn our girls. I think soil was real moist upon transplanting. They look good and are growing.

How about filling out this and Iā€™ll take a look at it: tag me into it when itā€™s filled outā€¦

COPY/PASTE the below list into your forum post.

Answer these simple questions the best you can.
If you do not know, or do not use something; Just say so; Or post
NA (non applicable)

-What strain, Seed bank, or bag seed (photo or auto)
-Age of plant
-Method: Soil w/salt, Organic soil, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, KNF
-Vessels: Type and capacity of container (fabric, plastic, etc)
-PH and TDS of Water, Solution, runoff (if Applicable)

If growing Hydro some additional questions:

-DWC? RDWC? Autopots? Ebb and Flow? Other?
-Distance of liquid below net pot (DWC)
-Temperature of reservoir
-TDS of nutrient solution
-Amount of air to solution

My problem is only that the plants are drooping leaves and the bottom leaves starting to yellow a bit.
My initial plan was high fertigation with coco/perlite.
On a 18/6 light schedule i wanted to water/feed 3x daily.

  1. With lights on
  2. 7 hours later
  3. 7 hours later
    and follow this feeding schedule.

What worries me is that i come from soil and i am worried that if i proceed with the watering / feeding like planed and and if the drooping comes already from overwatering that i might drown them and they die.
Or it might be just something else. And the yellow comes from nitrogen deficiency so i might just up the feed a bit ?

Looks to me like some kind of root issue with the plants ā€˜guardingā€™ like they are. With coco at this point the medium should be damp throughout but not necessarily watering to runoff. Itā€™s still too early to think about watering/feeding more than once a day and may not be necessary at all. Generally once a day is plenty so long as enough liquid is used.

Being in coco/perlite it will be tough to overwater once plant has grown into the medium. Remember that coco needs to stay moist or it becomes hydrophobic. I think I would increase the amount of liquid you are providing.

Your TDS is a bit low and would like to see it up around 900 ppm with GH nutes. Thatā€™s a good place to stay at throughout veg and once in flower can bump up to 1,100 or so.

Thanks for your advice.
And about the pH what could cause the pH to rise as my input is between 5.9 and 6.0 but my run off between 6.5-6.85 ?

Apparently the medium you are using is buffered at that higher range. I donā€™t really see that as a problem: continue your feeding around 5.8 and you should be okay.

Yes itā€™s actually double buffered as its buffed from where i bought it and i was soaking/ buffering it in Calmag water pHed for around 12h.

@OGIncognito @beardless @dbrn32 @Myfriendis410 @Outlaw

What you guys think are these numbers looking okay ?
I still worry about higher pH run off than my actual feed .
Here measured and checked before and run off .

NL = Northern Lights
DP = Durban poison
SD = Sour diesel

NL 2
Feed = pH 5.6 EC 1100 ppm 560
Run off = pH 6.58 EC 1120 ppm 560

DP 2
Feed = pH 5.6 EC 1100 ppm 560
Run off = pH 6.45 EC1150 ppm 578

SD 2
Feed = pH 5.6 EC 1100 ppm 560
Run off = pH 6.96 EC 1200 ppm 600

SUNSET
Feed = pH 5.6 EC 1100 ppm 560
Run off = pH 7.26 EC EC 1380 ppm 680

NL 4
Feed = pH 5.75 EC 1250 ppm 650
Run off = pH 6.70 EC 1070 ppm 530

NL 5
Feed = pH 5.75 EC 1250 ppm 650
Run off = pH 6.82 EC 1052 ppm 528

NL 1
Feed = pH 5.75 EC 1250 ppm 650
Run off = pH 6.80 EC 1083 ppm 542

NL 3
Feed = pH 5.75 EC 1250 ppm 650
Run off = pH 6.78 EC 1180 ppm 597

DP 1
Feed = pH 5.75 EC 1250 ppm 650
Run off = pH 6.85 EC 1136 ppm 568

Some of the plants are starting to looking better as i see new grow .

I donā€™t really see any cause for concern: media is going to become more acidic over time anyway so you are not in a bad place. FYI EC and PPM are expressing the same thing, no need to post both if you donā€™t want to. Most folks here are more comfortable with PPM than EC.
