ILGM White Widow Autoflower

@bob31 300W. I compared side by side of a week ago to where they’re at now and I’m honestly blown away. Dig this…

Wow that is a tremendous amount of growth! Very nice!

I believe most of the led manufacturers recommend the 300 be about 2 feet above the plants.

So keep an eye on your plants. These seem to be ok. If the leaves start to canoe then you’ll need to back that light off!

This is what I go by. FYI is all. If your girls are doing ok then just keep an eye on them!

Here’s a chart for LED lights, it’s for equivalent watt, so if your LED light is 300W follow the chart for it, it’s not made for actual or real draw and it’s an approximation, that clarify, here it is :

120 W to 180W ~1.5 feet
180W to 300W ~2.0 feet
300W to 600W ~2.5 feet
600W to 1200W ~3.0 feet
1200W to 2000W ~3.5 feet

Hoping that’s helping as many as fellow growers possible. Courtesy of @Niala

Yeah they do. Was also talking to @stomper about lighting. He suggested moving them closer since some burn hot and some don’t. They’re about a foot above right now. After I lowered lights and got a warm mist humidifier, they really took off. So far they’re reacting beautifully.

That’s excellent! Keep doing it! They really do look great! Tag me for the next update! @growingherbies

@bob31 Thanks! I’m proud, being my first grow. I know it’s not hard to grow, but I’m having a lot of fun babying them as they grow. The harvest is the whipped cream and cherry!

One of the things I found out about the generic LEDs is the actual wattage is often not what they state in the specs. The biggest thing tho is that the focal point where optimal growth without burning seems to be much closer than a brand name like Mars, Platinum or Vipar. They are just as effective but smaller footprint side by side.

Yeah. For the price difference I’m okay with that really. And since I only have a 4’ tent it actually works out pretty nicely.

@stomper @bob31 Have a question. These girls have a lot of little flowers underneath the main canopy, but they’re not really tall enough to do a scrog screen with. Should I let them keep growing and wait to start training them when they’re tall enough for scrog? Or should I do some LST now? If I should do it now, I’m not really sure what I should do. I have yarn and thought about tying it around and then tying it to the frame of my tent, but I’m not sure. What do you guys think?

I like to let them grow until about 4" short of the height of the Scrog. I measure from soil to net. Then I top it. The side branches will grow faster while topped branches grow out. I then let it grow straight up into the net and push the branches outward as the get the height to spread out. The center two branches I lst outward once there are 3 or more nodes above the net.

When the tops are four inches above the net I flower. If the plants are touching each other I flower.

Looking good never tried autoflower strains will have to watch to see how it turns out:relaxed:

@mantas @stomper Yeah they’re autoflower and I’ve read not to top autoflower strains, so I’m just gonna roll with it for a while and see how they progress. :beach_umbrella:

Sorry, forgot they were autos. I grow photos. Don’t top just lst anything that grows too tall above the net. They will flower when it is time whether you switch the lights or not and they can flower in 18/6 so most just leave them under 18/6.

@mantas @stomper @bob31 Beginning of week 5 update: these babies are growing at a pretty impressive rate. Today’s day one of week five since planting. Noticed a spot on Martha today and a tiny little bit on the edge of one of Snoop’s leaves (see pics below) Is this something I should be worried about? I raised the lights a couple of inches in case it was leaf burn. Have been misting at least once a day - didn’t know if it was overwatering, light burn, or what. Not mildew or mold, nothing like that. Didn’t know what you guys thought it might be.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

That looks like food water got dripped on it. Localized nute burn. You can see where the last of the liquid trailed off from the spot to the leaf tip. I get that in my veg tent cuz it’s crowded an I am a clutz.

@Stomper I don’t use nutes - but did water with tap water on accident yesterday - maybe that’s what caused it? They seem healthy and fine otherwise. It was quite a bit colder here yesterday and I was out of town for the day so the house temp was cooler - not sure how much of a difference if any that would have made. I will keep my eyes open to see how they do from here - hoping everything goes well.

Did you PH down the water first and then dripped on leaf that is what may have caused it.

My guess is it burned because the led lights were on and the water on the leaves caused the burns.

I always kill my strong LEDs during and for 20 minutes after watering to let the leaves dry.

@mantas @stomper Thank you all for your advice and wisdom. I’m a complete noob, but it’s nice to have people like you here to help me out. I really do appreciate it.

Did some LST on them this morning. There are a lot of little new chutes below the big ones and I wanted them to be able to get some light as well. Haven’t build the scrog rig yet, so this is what I did. We’ll see how it goes.
