Hoo Ah,

Welcome Aboard Bud, feel free to hang out add anything. I am just trying to grow weeds.

I think now I got the system of hatching these things. Spanks batting 1000%. I really think I am going to do pretty good if I can get them a couple weeks old.

I got one that popped ground Thinking about naming it “Spanky-III” after @spankyjr1, but I am smart enough not to in case I F it up. :joy: I pulled the saran wrap off that cup.

Old Kevlar of the shell sticking to the first set of leaf.

Put a drop of distilled water on the shell leave it alone for 15 minutes then carefully open the shell a little and pull off (I just use my fingernails to open up you could use a couple of toothpicks)
If it’s still too tight try another drop and wait then it should come off with ease

I’m just happy that it worked out well for you
You won’t fguck this up just don’t overwater/feed and let it do its thing

What’s your RH and temp where they are growing?

3/23/2022 Update

Spanks,

I am in the Desert. I am ready to Introduce RH at anytime. With the Infinity 4" (#10 Speed) at the top of the closet pulling a good exchange rate. I figured up the cubit feet one time and a 4 inch does the average linen closet conversion.

It is Infinity and I crank it to 10 as that is the way I roll.

I know venting into the attic is not recommended (Mold Possibilities), but I think the zone where I am located will be ok.

Ist Daughter raised up under 24 hrs once in the cup.

I am patiently waiting on at least one more, thinking all 3 gonna show up 2 more days max.

I got @DrWoo nugget for the be calm wait a bit message also from his Funny Commentary on his journal. Still  reading that one… Might have a shot doing Dry Humor routine somewhere?

Currently in the Grow Chamber \ Dry \ Cure Box

Currently 73F
RH: 21%
Watts: 37
Inches: 23

Should I start the Humidifier once they all pop?

I will say I know the @Hellraiser school of thought is don’t get too wrapped up on humidity. Right now I am waiting to see the surgeon so not into too much wrastlin with the equipment will be possible.

im set to watch.

thats the longest tap root ive see lol

youre going need to humidity up.

im pretty sure that you dont need the exhaust fan cranked up to 10, that will probably suck all the humidity out.

Generally speaking, mold in the attic is a cold weather problem. Cold air can’t hold as much moisture as warm air. When normal air from downstairs enters a cold attic and is allowed to build up you get high humidity and condensation / frost. That leads to mold. Good ventilation in the attic prevents a buildup of humidity.

Dumping your tent exhaust into the attic will be similar to, but worse than, a bathroom fan that doesn’t exhaust through the roof. Even the best attic ventilation can have problems if the dump point is too close to the decking. I suspect you’ll be just fine if it’s always hot. If you get cold winters or cold nights (below 20-30 F) you should take steps now, or you’ll pay for it later - at least when you try and sell. At a minimum, run the duct up to your exhaust venting up high. Ideally, you duct through the roof to the outside.

They will grow better faster with higher Humidity over 50%
They will still grow with lower RH just not as fast

Leave it off, for now, there’s no smell and it will help keep RH up
Just make sure you have the small fans on to create a small breeze above the plants to help strengthen the stalks

Spanks Update, I am now the proud Father of Twin Girls. They better be girls. Hoping for Quadruplets.

I did not think about sucking the humidity out the room.

When the bags get wet that humidity will get up there.

I will cut it to 5 and see what the lamp will do to the temp. I am usually house temp +7F if I remember correct from last grow but that was at 168 watt.

I will play with the speed it a little. Scared to turn it off with lamp going. I am only at 37 watt though, so not generating much heat.

Glad I am getting this figured out, before I give those Photos from that other Seedbank a whirl. I think a couple strains I got a 3 pack. As you can see from the past Grows I have “issues”, but I feel I got potential to get all this HLG 135 V2 Can muster. I learned alot from you Grow 3.

75F Speed 10 / 30 % RH

___Speed 5 / ___% RH

I got the alarm set for 3 hrs. Ill check the temp. I am starting to run the humidifier right now.

Proud Dad of Triplets.

I’m running out of Pink cigars!

Currently Reading 46% RH on the infinity LCD controller after I slowed down fan speed to #5. Probe is slightly above cup height. The small battery operated thermo sitting in the green tub i think RH reading is flawed sitting on the mat.

46% RH at 73F.

I will try and add a bit of humidity throughout the day tomorrow playing with fan speeds.

I like this Germination method. Very simple. :cowboy_hat_face:

3/24/2022 UPDATE: ( ILGM Z-Kittle Auto Seedlings)

Yep I f-d Up the Gold Leaf. Pretty sure with this shared Germination method I would have been 3/3 First Time Go, but the GL auto are smallish so give these Z-Kittle ILGM another shot at more end result smoking, put me a week behind of well,… calendar is empty. Who Cares?

I wanted to snap a picture of my quadruplets , just in case they need their photos posted on a Milk Crate for exploited and missing plants in the next couple weeks.

I lifted the battery powered thermo and tied it to a string to compare my Thermos. I saw @meeasy posted about how crappy the OEM tips (that was my read between the line meaning) he did not say that but warned the Grow Room know the Tips are easily corroded with peroxide spray.

Wrap up thoughts on these Germinations: This method works!

My Old Buddy Weed Whisperer helped me out again. Virtual Cheech and Chong Smoke session to you Brother Spanks. I guess you can call it idiot proof. 4/4

Doc that is what we are hoping for. I am going to throw some eyes on your project you got going over there here in a minute. Can’t wait to see the pics the pics of your wheel barrow and the barn. I was laughing my @ss off at the thoughts you had bouncing around in your head went to the forum… You made my day laughing. I love the dead pan humor.

Spanks “The Weed Whisperer” has already gotten into my head on this grow. Got bitch in front of the community about twiddling my thumbs waiting on BUDz looking at a dusty humidifier sitting in the corner doing nothing. Got me thinking. Got to put in the work4it!

So to get the humidity up I dialed my Infinity fan back to #2 as to create just a slight draw of the humidity cloud I got percolating in the silver reflectix barn I have off to the side of the closet. I needed that 4" hole for air intake I believe, or I think it would get too hot at 168 watt, which is max with the HLG 135 v2. We gonna get up hitting the Turbo button, on the light eventually eventually. I am using a Kill-a-watt knock off, inline watt meter reader. yep, rolling the dice on that inline meter to my lamp hoping that thing was built with quality in mind.. You will need something similar if you have this lamp to accurately see wattage. I guess I could unplug, and replug?

The lowering of the fan speed kept it warmer in the night at 77F (75F-86F) window. Not bad for over night temps as the desert gets cold at night when the sky is clear. I read that the sugars inside the vascular transport system of the plants will not flow at great under 68F and not ideal for optimal growth environment. I know it got colder that that inside this box during the winter grows I did here though 61-ish. Currently with 77F/46% H. Cups still nice and heavy, so far so good.

I am going to supplement the RO water with CAL Mag to get the above 100 PPM for a good ph lock during the times I will be watering while plants are young. Can not use any of the Tap H20 it will Create huge problems around the 30 day mark. Documented.

I am not going to change lamp at 37 Watt or 23 Inches right now as they are looking squatty and well not much to look at. :joy: Don’t see any ambering or tricomes yet.

Game plan is pick 2 grow them on average cause they getting chopped on the same day. Knock wood if they get that far an I don’t kill them all prior. These are personal smoke autos anyway so they getting the eyeball chop ripeness check prior to the cut. I will be using the Grow box for a Dry and Cure area also. We got a long way to go. Looking for around a 1 July chop.

I know I am growing these stinking weeds in a far from ideal location. I would be way too paranoid to try and pull off a @Dennis62 grow. I am just picturing your front door as a rectangular Gas Cap, wide open, swinging on the hinges. you crazy old Coot!

Do-Over-Business Card on board needed editing.

Quick pictorial update.

Got things slowed down. Was trying to interject some humor stating that I got BitXh Slapped by @spankyjr1 but I guess being stoned did not proof read that well.

So Currently still cold outside, but would not mind a 81 or 82F day in the Grow Chamber. I am not sure how many more % unless I do the bucket and rag trick but way too young for the effort and I am way too broken to be doing too much lifting currently. I am going to be revving the fan soon as the outside temps are heading to oh shxt not this frickin Hot in March.

I nicked myself again…I knew I did this right after I buried all 4 candidates. I knew I was off center in the red solo cup, but I had so much hell to that point I did not want to risk digging them up and possibly damaging the tap root. I need to sift thru and make sure the tops of my cups are free of wood pieces and more fine dirt next time I attempt the sprouting with seed.

Slight SNAFU, but will correct on final planting. Here the plants are off center in cup. I want to position in the middle of the 3 Gal bag, not off center a bit with the main stalk.

3/26/2022 UPDATE:

Yesterday, Realizing I have been on Grow-cation I was wondering where I had put all the potions and weed feeds, pans etc?

I was pretty close to forgetting to water as cups were starting to get real light. I played hide and go seek with the the Chems for awhile, GH FloraTrio, CAL MAG, all the stuff was in that box, right where I had put it. I was starting to ask myself, did I take the box to the Donation station?

I realized quick, I got some rust. I got a new dropper out and read Teaspoon and ML. I thought I use to know this? I guessed 4.9 per tsp (Learned something in the past) and then looked up on line in case it was a figment of my imagination, a blur.

Yea we going Cheap Old School chems. some may think tht I am trying to make Chicken Salad out of Chicken shxt, but we going to roll with what we got. Today, the mercury up outside near 100F, today, and so the heat until Halloween begins. When it is March and we already flirting with 100F+ it’s never a good sign.

To add to all of it, I turned on the house AC, Nothing, Dead. Just like last year when I was scrambling to change start capacitor at beginning of Grow before I cooked them in the closet.

This year I guess I was impatient and was just not waiting long enough for compressor to kick in. Plus Super stoned too. Thank goodness that thing AC unit is working. I am so poor I can’t buy weeds, much less pay attention. Damn sure not no AC repair bills.

I purchased a new set of the GH Flora trio ready to go and a brand spanking new Gallon of PH UP Blue last fall, still got enough Cal Mag to make it to my 100th Birthday, so I think got plenty of Grow juices on hand.

My RO water with Chem around here it takes quite a bit of the blue to get in the optimal Dirt 6.5 range. Making sure this Grow I keep PH IN 6.5-6.8. Actually last grow I was like hum…5.8 PH with no Orange or Blue consistently after feed. At 5.8 with no orange or blue added, all I can say is yea, I am thinking about it for future grows.

I took about a half gallon of Distilled water under the sink, added RO water to get one gallon of fluid for easy mixing of the CAL MAG measurements. I got caught up in Stoners math before trying to mix small doses. As I was taking my readings, I remembered the Distilled under the sink was to rinse the PH and PPM readers. Shxt! New Gal of Distilled on back Grocery list.

NO Tap water of any kind will touch these plants. The stuff here is super bad for these plants in any amounts. I dried the bucket out before I poured the start water in there today. Added a Pinch of Epsom Salts for @Caligurl (Love the look of your Cookies,BTW) and Walt Garrison, @beardless. Full label strength of CAL Mag to get some in the soil. For all the new people who are really stoned and have read this far, Walt was Beardless’ hero when he was young fan just starting to follow the NFL.

Back on topic, during my previous Grows I would not come back to Check PH after adding tap water and Chems, I have done everything you are not supposed to do growing these weeds. I have Pics up on Grow 1,2,3 and those are invaluable to me. I do not want to relive those errors. I might have shredded the notes by mistake, but I got the pics and the Grow Forum.

I made a chart that I can use to track feed. I have to write it down, or I will forget. Totally forgot all about that chart too. Was like Christmas today.

Back to the weed Grow game plan / strategy, not sure if I got any dribbles of run off out them cups for first watering, but they all shared about 12 oz between them of 6.8 PH Water with full label strength CAL Mag.

They still young and tender so I am not out of the woods yet. I am torn between run off and not drowning and killing the plants.

It took me awhile to remember why I bought the gallon of PH UP, LOL. I need a shxt load of it! I was dropping that blue PH up in there like Tim Leary dripping liquid drops on sugar cubes with that extra little bit on it. I actually preferred the Orange sunshine pills (Safety Pin Head Size) back in the day. Rare to find. Paper ain’t got nothing on those. Those make you forget you have a name.

Flashing back to the grow, I think I am going to target the input of pretty steady 6.8 let soil leach it out, but I will be checking run off all the way and charting it here to learn.

Don’t plan on feeding anytime soon, but I bumped wattage to 45 watt this AM. I am going to let the Fox Farm Happy Frog keep me on track for a bit. Right now I am on a self imposed 24 hr lighting schedule. Soon I think I will just set them for 18/6 all the way, or 20/4 to the chop down (Z-Kittle Auto). Can’t remember what I had last time. I think 20/4? As the plants get a bit bigger and they will need those few hr of rest to transpire or whatever plants do? All I remember about plants from school is the word photosynthesis and the broad concept of it.

Going to come back and review my comedy of errors from my Last Grow Around, and I am going to do my best to make Spanks and all the other Horticulturing Bad Asses around here proud of me this time.

I am hoping to keep these babies 2 looking Lush, Green and Waxy a good portion of the way, all while being STONED as possible.

I have contacted an adoption agency and think I have a home for the unlucky 2 Kids. Hope I ain’t giving the Red Headed Kids away.

Lamp, +10w = 46W Currently
Dropped lamp 3”= Now 20”
Feed Water, CAL MAG, PH IN 6.8
