I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to the newest additions to my family!

I agree with @dbrn32 I would check them more frequently! And yes don’t soak that pot yet. You could start some food though. Light mix to start.

Ok @dbrn32
Sounds like a good idea
Think I need 2 start measuring how much water I’m giving rather than “sort of roughly about half a jugish”

N hi @timmyv324!

I might b watering every 2 3 days
but I’m in there checking EVERY day!
I even poke my head in now n then jus for the sake of it!?!

As for feeding the soil they’re in has enough “food” in it to last the first 3 weeks so they should b ok for the next 11 days?!?

Usually good for a few weeks. Just keep an eye on them.

Probably not critical right now to know exactly how much water they get. But when you get to feeding, the doses are all per unit of water. So you’ll want to be as accurate as possible.

For the next grow I would start your seedling off in smaller plastic bag style pots cuz they are easy to cut off and not disturb the root system for transplanting into bigger pots plus Fox Farms sells a seedling soil just for that . And it will feed your plant for a couple weeks once they sprout by then you should b able to transplant with a good root bed

So here are todays pics…

As you can see they are both still damp so no watering today
Once they are both dry will water more as per @dbrn32 suggestion

Am thinking would it be worth watering until there is a VERY small run off (couple of drops rather than the traditional 10 % - 20 %) just so i know that there is water all the way through the pot but not enough to truly soak the pot?!?

Will be making a 2 level frame to
1 raise the pots off the floor so water can drip into a tray that can be easily removed for emptying / cleaning
2 attach the plastic coated wire net ive got for doing the scrog

The small plant is now 9" x 9" and 4" tall
The larger is now 10" x 10" and nearly 5" tall

Not too long now n itll be time for their topping!

You can give it a try,but don’t over do it.

Ok

Like i said would only add water until the very first drops start to come through the bottom of the pot
N if i pour the water in quicker than normal then even less will be added before the water comes through the pot?!?

If the leaves start to droop then i know ive added too much!
Will keep an eye on exactly how much water i use for future reference so i know what to add the next time

I usually pour kind of slow, but I’m also usually in a smaller pot for that size plant. Give it a try and see. That’s pretty much how we all get a feel out plants.

yeah Think its time to start leaning how to tell what my plants like!!

this is the bigger one…

Theyre now pretty much dry so gona make my frame tomorrow and then give them a decent watering
As said not too much
Jus till a bit of water comes through the bottom

Well ive been busy!
Heres my babies in their new frame getting them ready for scrogging soon!
Ive the top level where the scrog net will be attached 10" above the soil

The only problem ive got now is that they are already only 30" below the light so might have to do some redesigning so i can get them lower until its flowering time

I gave them their biggest watering yet
I gave them both a litre of water and waited 5 mins to see if any water came through the bottom
As no water at all came through i gave them both another litre
And after waiting another 5 mins i still had not one drop of water in the tubs below so im guessing that they both needed the drink!

As far as i can tell they both have 6 nodes so im also guessing that its time for topping?!?
Heres the smaller one

And heres the bigger one

So what does everyone think?
Is it time to top!?!
And if so how do you all recommend i do it?
@bob31 @Donaldj @dbrn32 and anyone else whos reading this!

Am only gona top them both once as i guessing im gona have trouble with room
Originally was only gona do 1 plant but as i ended up with 2 seeds i thought id do them both
Wishing i jus did the 1 now!
Def will be next time
Tent size again is only 80 cm (31") X 80 cm (31") X 160 cm (62") tall

Looks good. I would just use the net to keep them level, shouldn’t be a whole lot of reasons to change heights.

Hi @dbrn32!

The only reason im worried about height is that they are both now only 30" below the light still with some growing to do until theyre ready for switching the light to 12/12
Once theyre in the flowering stage i only need the light around 20" above so height shouldnt be a problem then?!?

You are good to top them now if you’re concerned with height restrictions

Hi @MattyBear!

The advice ive read is to top when they have 5 - 6 nodes which as far as i can tell is where they are now?!?
Just the thought of cutting them is making me nervous!

you could easily top now pinch or cut off top just above new nodes
