I want to go pure organic

As I have successfully germinate 30y old photos seeds I want to go completely organic from seedling to harvest

All I have access to
earth soil
Coco peat
Black Organic feltilizer mix like compost.
Cowdug
That might not fulfill the need of PK and calcium in flowering stage but how can I make things work

I do have access to npk chemical but I don’t want to use that

you will need to single pot them very quickly.

You could add some composting material plus perlite to the dirt you’re using. Loosen it up so it’s not so compact and will allow oxygen into the root zone.

You mentioned “earth soil”. Did you dig soil out from your yard??? That’s not generally going to work because it’s using the natural elements of earth to help with minerals and nutrients. When you take a shovel and put it into a pot it’s kinda like filling an aquarium with ocean water and trying to support life. The ecosystem doesn’t work when you take it out of its environment.

I would recommend making a super soil if you wanna stay organic. 1 part peat, 1 part compost and 1 part perlite and then add in your minerals like bone meal, fish meal, rock phosphate, etc. Look up Coot’s Recipe for a simple super soil.

From the looks of your soil it’s not going to support a plant the whole way and you’re going to be battling things the whole way.

You got them sprouting which is awesome for some 30 year old seeds, so be gentle with them and get them in a good organic soil and they’ll hopefully grow.

Good luck on the grow!!!

They do sell salt water from the ocean in pet stores….

Really??? Well dang. I stand corrected. I suppose that doesn’t make it this far inland perhaps hahaha. I don’t think the Minnesota petco has real ocean water, though who knows.

My post was more so that soil from the earth works when it’s in the earth but not so much when you take it out.

But I am by no means an expert and know there are many out there smarter than me.

Nah you were doing him good. His dirt does look it’s in need of amendments. He can definitely improve its quality and then keep reusing it over and over with only moderate improvements or additions.

Even some sort of shredded bark/mulch to keep the soil loose is also a way.

That will work for sure growmie!!! Rice hulls and pumice are great.
Definitely on the right track though. Happy soil makes happy plants so you got this. They’re small enough that you can transplant into fabric pots or whatever with a good mix of soil and you’ll be great. One thing is to let the soil “cook” for a week or two so that any amendments and minerals you might add can jive with the compost and coco and whatnot.

Looking forward to seeing these 30 year old seeds pop!!! You may have mentioned it somewhere but just curious what kind they are if you know???

That’s what I love about living soil. Use it, add a bit of love, reuse it and it keeps getting better!!!
