Ive never herd of practice I would assume that would make it hard for the plant to get a drink of nutrients

It’s not recommended to use dish detergent (like Dawn), laundry detergent, or hand soap (even the “natural” versions), since these soaps contain abrasive ingredients that could harm your plants.

Things that make “water wetter” (including soaps) are called surfactants. They work by reducing the surface tension between liquids and solids. These compounds are used in flushing agents such as FF Sledgehammer. They are used to flush nutrients out of soil.

interresting stuff is there anything you can out in the water to make it wetter through the grow ? @MidwestGuy

I’ve never heard of anyone doing this outside of using such products to flush nutrients out of soil.

There is a product out there called “Horticultural Watering GEL” used for plants like hanging baskets, claims to hold like 400 times its own weight in water and slowly release back. I’ve never heard of anyone using it for cannabis, but hey, try it and report back
