I this a terrible idea?

About a month ago, one of my girls hermed. I found a place for it to finish, my son agreed to let her stay at his place and we put her under a much weaker light and her nutes changed as well. She’s been doing ok but not great, much smaller than her sisters. Her buds look ok but not nearly as big and dense, all that is to be expected. Anyway, she hasn’t produced any more pollen sacs in at least 2 weeks and looks like a normal plant now and I’m thinking maybe she could come back and finish up with her sisters under the big light. Am I playing with fire here? Is it just a terrible idea? How will it blow up in my face?

Unless your grow is close to harvest I would not attempt it.

Were these autos or photos?

We are almost done, maybe 2-2 1/2 weeks left.

You won’t damage your flower by putting the hermi back this late. You could contaminate the grow space with pollen but a spray down with peroxide between grows will solve that potential issue.

I was thinking she would probably get a bath before I put her back in the tent to kill any pollen she might still have on her foliage. I’ll completely disinfect the tent before I start my next run. Thanks for the input!

Definitely give tent a thorough cleaning. I used to camping in the spring where there were thousands of yellow pines and i’m still finding pollen in nooks and crannies of things I took and haven’t been in 10 years. I don’t think you could lean her against a wall and hit her with a pressure washer full of peroxide and get all that stuff! :grinning:

Often hermies develop seemingly from light stress and if she’s doing well and is improving at your sons the less intense light may be the root cause. If you bring shim back it may continue where it left off and pollinate the others. Just a thought.

I’m fairly sure this one hermed due to a pH shock I accidentally gave her. It was wild actually. I was watering in some mosquito bits one morning, she was the first one to get watered and as soon as I was finished with her I realized that I had forgotten to pH down before watering. I fixed it as soon as I realized and the others got good water and bits at 6.5. She, on the other hand got a quart of 8.6 and, as soon as I watered, I could see her droop, like watching a Venus flytrap close, it was that visible. By the time I finished with the other girls, her leaves were pointed at the floor, took all day for her to perk back up. The next morning she had balls all over. This was week 2 of flower just as they had started to stack. Made a note to myself to stop being in a hurry when I’m with the girls :upside_down_face:

Well at least you are able to definitively identify when and what caused your particular situation. Makes diagnosing and resolving the issue much simpler for sure lol. Good luck going forward. :+1:t2::four_leaf_clover::crossed_fingers:
