I think I overdid it on nutes

Up to this point, the girls have been super healthy. I’m pretty sure I got too confident in what they could handle and went over board on the nutes. They handled everything so well up this point. Lol I’m growing in Coco w/Perlite and castings. All AC infinity kit stuff, 4x4 tent. I feed Humbolt’s secret nutes PH to 5.8 - 6.2. Filtered tap water. I don’t have runoff numbers because I dont want to feed them if my nutes are too strong in my food for them. Any of the food I mix for them is within spec for that week. Just, for the two healthier, bigger plants, I started maxing or almost maxing out the nutes according to their chart. Temps consistant between 75-80, humidity between 52 and 57. 18/6 light, inline fan runs 24/7 on speed 1 and will kick up for heat or humidity.
Also, if this is nute burn, can I just water down my food, check ph again and use that? Or would the PPM be all screwed up? This started with all my plants within a week or so. But, I went toward the high end on the nute charts because the two big ones were starting to flower.

The young girls I was giving light nutes to. I feel like they’re growing well, but, I think I overdid it on theirs too…

My little cat chomping on her fresh wheat grass. :grin::grin:

I think they look fine. Your ph might be a little high. I believe coco is 5.3 to 5.8 ish

I don’t see a big problem. Older leaves look worn naturally.

Looking Good Growmie, input PH looks good and make sure you feed to liberal run off. Keeps the root zone healthy and prevents salt build up from synthetic fertilizer. What’s the final PPM on your nutrients after mixing :love_you_gesture:

@4204life
coco is 5.8-6.2 pH got that good. when are u gonna make the switch from soil? all the cool kids are doin it, so i hear :sunglasses:

@Fishy
what i did notice is there is no ppm value listed, are u checking the ppm of the water?
if ur concerned of nute burn on those last few pictures, u should get a tds meter to test the water for the ppm value, that will help verify ur concerns :+1:

Some of my recent runoff has been mid to high 1300s. I think I’ll just cut back on nutes to make sure I’m not cooking them. They had been perfect up to this point, so, I went to the high end of the scale for nutes. I’ll just back it down to mid scale.

Does anyone see a reason that I cant just dilute down the current gallons of food I already have mixed for them and feed them that? I’ll check PH again after I dilute it.

ya, i don’t normally let that ppm value surpass barely over 1,000. like 1050 at the most.
thats gotta be it right there, if u can add distilled or RO water to ur already mixed water, that will help lower the ppms, if u can get it down to 900-1000, and pH to 5.8-6.2 those numbers are perfect for coco.
let me know how it works out, that should fix the issue ur seeing.

@Hershy420 Thank you! I’ll be the first to admit that I have done a TON of reading here, but am still a little confused about PPM. I have more reading to do on that stuff. So, 900-1000 is the sweet spot for me? Just add water and check again, then ph?

sounds like u got it figured out. i personally believe that should definitely fix it.
if it doesn’t, than we can go from there an figure out some more options, this community is usually the spot to be for any cannabis questions.

just remember, the leafs that are already damaged wont fix themselves or look better, but the new leafs that come in should grow much healthier.

if u ever have any other questions that i can answer, I’ll be here. unless its my nap time, obviously :rofl:

@Hershy420, I can’t thank you enough! I was pretty disappointed when I saw that. Kept thinking “this is going too smoothly for my first grow”. Lol.
I’ll definitely be in touch and keep you updated on them!
Man, I read where all you guys get to the end of your grows and get the first smoke and can’t wait for that!! :grin:

So I am curious. I start with store bought drinking water that ppm at 3. Then I add nuts it goes up to 370. Run off is 950. I grow in fox farm ocean. Are those ppm’s good. My tap water comes out at 850. So I decided to buy water.

ur aware that the soil has enough nutrients in it to last a month or so of just watering only, right? and after a month or so is when u should start adding ur own nutes, or that could burn it up. based on what i know about foxfarm.

after the nutrients that are in the soil itself run out and it comes time to make ur own blend, i always suggest jack’s 321 nutrition schedule, jack’s nutrients are cheap and super ez.
but regardless of the nutes u use, ill put it like this
in my experience with soil, after a month or so when the preloaded nutes are used up, i always added water at a ppm of about 1,000, and because its soil a pH of 6.3-6.8 going in throughout the entire grow as a constant feed, and never had an issue that was worth lookin twice at.

i just wanna add, i would be willing to bet that u have the highest ppm in ur tap than anyone ive ever seen, most ppl are like 200-400, not u my man. u said double it, double it again lol u got some real angry tap water :rofl: that water just comes out swinging

Tap water ppm is 540 and pH is 7.84 and this water runs thru a water softener.

It’s been in the fox farm for over 6 weeks.
