Anyone remember GW-BASIC? Ugh!

Me thinking I’ll make an app one day :exploding_head:

@Flatnut Gw-basic… Had to look that up.

Unfortunately, schools in my area started with Apples only… I was lucky that my grade school principal got the school many Timex Sinclair 1000 to learn from.

I would rather have started learning gw… Than apple basic… Was Gw-basic anything like the basic or expanded basic of the Texas Instruments TI-99-4a?

This app is written with Java in Android studio.

Used same commands. Long lines of code. Microsoft version. Used to use basic to write for the c-64. In school we learned Pascal. I remember the sinclairs.

I wrote several games on the timex Sinclair as well as the Texas Instruments… I was the Computer Club President in 5th grade… And its only member.

I have 31 copy/pastes to be done…

I have to copy/paste the variables ending with the “H” & “TC”… The TC twice in 31 places to finish.

I’m not sure if I should congratulate you or console you. :joy:
I’m just amazed you can remember any of it. I took years of programming and don’t remember squat. I’m going to be a handful in another 20 years. Btw…who are you again?:rofl::rofl::sunglasses::metal:t2:

On the last 40C of the 100% Humidity column. The last column!

These represents the last three built in “errors” I wrote into this code block to complete…that I must copy the two and paste them into three.:

This:

Is the approximate number of lines of code in just the Fahrenheit and Celsius charts alone “VPD Chart Activity.java”

These are all the pages:

Is there a way for me to message the powers that be at ilgm?

I’d like to talk to someone about my app… And the role ilgms forum and how its members were an integral part of me coming up with and finishing Hortus… this grow toolbox app.

Amazing work; that chapter is done!

I recall something an instructor said when I was in a coding class - there will be bugs.

@T-ray Yes there will… I have done my best to test as I go… So there will be a beta test period of a limited bunch of ilgm members hopefully.

I have two things I am contemplating…

  1. Waiting to hear back from Anychart’s support… If they come up with a solution to my vpd chart legends… I’ll add them in.
  2. Possibly fixing the permission errors I get in the “Notes” section stopping the app from successfully adding pics to a note… It worked with Android 13 and below. 14 & 15 are a bit different apparently.

If I can do those two things… It’ll be absolutely complete as far as features it offers.

It’s a victory already.
