You could get away with a 260 xl kit if you wanted. That doesn’t really make the 320xl overkill though.
Thanks guys I will go with the 320xl kit like above. Thanks again
Thanks for your help @dbrn32I got the HLG 320 kit you were recommending. Got another question. I am growing 2 pot of Autos. Would you do 1 transplant or 2 with autos? And what size pot or pots should I use for autos? Thanks, Buddy53
I don’t really mess with autos, but I don’t think I would transplant them twice. There are a lot of growers that won’t transplant them at all, for fear of stressing the plant and triggering flower early.
We’ll see if @Not2SureYet has some feedback. He’s one of the best auto growers i know.
Thanks @dbrn32 @Buddy53 You should love that light. I have one as well. I would only transplant once if possible. Better than that. It would be worth picking up a pack of these bags. And use them in stead of a solo cup. When you are ready to pot up. You just drop the whole bag in the pot. And no shock
If I want to keep these going in a small space. I will drop these into a 9x9 nursery bag. It is the same as a 1 gallon pot. You can drop that bag directly into a final pot as well. The roots grow through these easily ![]()
Thanks @Not2SureYet Ordered the gallon bags. Good idea. So how many gallon pot do you use for Autos as your final transplant. Thanks, Buddy53
I use 5 gallon pots for all that get top fed. I use 3s or 5s for the auto pots. I have about 2 years worth of 5 gallon bags right now. So I will be using them for a while. A 5 holds more water. I have had the 3 gallon top fed plants dry out before their next feeding. And have to water them twice a day some times. With a 5 gallon. You should be good unless it is hot out and you are doing a big girl. If you are in soil. That may change. I have only used coco here. I had to feed my CP auto twice a day this last grow and it was in a 5. Room temps were close to 100 for about half of the grow.
@Not2SureYet
Hello I have been looking a some of your post and discovering you have eons of post. Was wondering if you have any post for beginning your auto grows up to and including transplant. Thanks, Buddy53
@Not2SureYet hello Not2SureYet sure. I got the 1 gallon bags that you recommended to me. Have you got a certain amount of water that you pour into these bags? Like 16 oz. or so.
Then how much you pour in 5 gallon bags when you transplant. I was thinking about weighing my bags while dry then watering and don’t water again until weight is back to dry weight ???
Sorry to be late. I should have one or 2 in here. I have never grown in soil though. So how I water or feed would be totally different that how you do. I think @Myfriendis410 @MattyBear @Covertgrower @dbrn32 Could help more there. Almost every one of my journals have autos in them I think.
I forget where I started using autopots. This grow here is an auto grow and has at least a couple autos that are not in autopots.
Not necessary, it’s more of pick it up to feel how much lighter it is in comparison to after you watered.
Yup. Plants will get heavier over time too, so weighing a dry pot and using as guide not a fool proof method.
How did your girls grow?
Did you finish your grow
@Trickdaddy thanks for asking. I lost 4 seeds earlier but maybe a bit more informed now and got all the needed supplies so gonna start a couple more seeds maybe tomorrow. ![]()
Good luck you got this,
Spring coming around here in north Minnesota so gonna give it another shot. Not much luck last year. Just decided to wait till spring for some reason. I see they sell veg lights and flowering lights both?? Why would someone buy a veg light only? Get better veg growth?
