I have an 8x8x9controlled grow room (7”inch infinity exhaust fan)… twelve plants…and I’m having trouble getting the humidity down below 66%… I have a small dehumidifier but it’s not doing much and we’ve presently been in a month long heatwave with few breaks… can I add a mother small humidifier to help me get my humidity down below 50%… or do I need to grab a larger one?
What growth stage are you in Growmie? I struggle in the summer months with the RH climbing to 65% often in the flower stage. I keep the air circulating and exhausting, defoliating excess leaves helps as well ![]()
Window Air conditioner?
Reduces humidity and cools lung room.
I wish I had one.
Oscillating fan plus exhausting 1.5x cubic volume of room.
Good growing to you.
Sounds like you need a larger dehumidifier. Sucks to buy but you will always have it then. Was pretty handy to have when my laundry room flooded as well.
Humidity sucks here in MN too right now. Week 7 of flower and its running basically non-stop to stay under 50%
Im sorry i forgot… @tydagod welcome to our forum. There’s alot of good people here who wont steer you wrong.
I’m just beginning my seedling stage. I wanted to run a few tests to make sure everything was in place and running and that I would have confident control of the environment before I jumped out the gate
Would an 88oz dehumidifier be sufficient?
88 oz. is pretty small. So good news and bad news…good news is seedlings/early veg you will want the humidity in the 60-70% range. The bad news is once the plants are larger and require lower humidity, they will be releasing alot of water vapor themselves and adding to the humidity in the environment. But you are doing it right figuring your environment early on.
So even with the smaller one helping THE 88oz you don’t think I would be able to sustain below 50 RH through veg and flower for a twelve plant crop on an eight by eight controlled room?
Ive never grown on that scale so i cant say for sure. But it sounds like alot of humidity to me.
Might as well get a larger humidifier as you will definitely need to use it to keep buds safe in flowering. A plus is the water you collect is good to use with any plants. 12 plants, hope you get a pound per plant. Good luck welcome to the community.
Nicely done Grow Bro ![]()
Thank ya Sir!
By exhausting the hot air out aren’t you also exhausting the dried air?
The exit hose has a steady drip when it’s running so it’s removing moisture from the air and exhaust goes into lung room where a second AC keeps it cool and I have an air intake from lung room to grow room . The dryer air discharged into the lung room is cooled, which helps dry it more, then returns thru the air vent, which is filtered, letting the grow room breathe at the right rh. It must work because I can completely control my humidity in the room……
Cool, I thought your were exhausting it outside. That’s a good system.
