@Jayjay504 just about everything I am telling you is the same thing @Retiredoldguy has told me, except for the bleach, he also advised not to use it. But I’ve found in low dose, about 5ML per 3 gallons bucket in hot water for a once over clean should not leave a residue or film on the bucket, and is also why I said to rinse very well, then a second cleaning with 3% peroxide to remove/kill anything left.
Then fill res with plain water hook up your air pump and put a stone in the water and run for a few days then empty and wipe clean.
Another big tip I am gonna give you is @Retiredoldguy has more then helped me to grow in DWC, has been their just about every step of the way while helping @Mmanson1981 with DWC. I 100,000,000% trust everything he has to say!
Best thing for you to do is to get new air stone, tubes.
The 1/4lbs I harvested from my first ever DWC using auto flower with your instructions is more then living up to the hype I’m putting on you. I’ve no fear or doubt in your knowledge on this particular subject!!
Once I get the environment here set will be contacting you again for advice.
Haha, nice setup. So I’m wondering about these riot rooters I have. The guy that gave me my setup told me to germinate my seed, put it in the riot router, and put it straight in the bucket. But I see people on here doing that and I see some people putting it on a heating mat. What is y’all’s way of getting it started when using a riot rooter??
I don’t use them so I have no first hand experience… but I think I have seen some root in those then transfer to a net pot with the clay pebbles… I put my seeds right into my rockwool cube… I don’t use the clay pebbles either, I use that neoprene ring instead…
we all have our way/superstition … I soak the seeds for around 4 hours in water and at the same time I soak my rockwool in my seedling nutrient solution… then I put the seed in the rockwool with a few other steps before going in the tote…
I soak mine a day or so until it has a tail and put in in rapid rooters until sprout and it gets a root out the bottom then i move it to clay pebbles in the totes
I’ve been using 2inch layer of coco or soil with the clay pebbles under it, I soak my seeds for 12-24 hours in a 3% peroxide, water mix. I do 2 drops of 3% peroxide to a shot glass full of water, then straight into the center of the coco or soil.
Morning Rog, Yeah and MeEasy lol gonna try seeding and from looks manifold will allow me to make a branch male for pollen while budding the rest, or I can just let pollen go crazy in tent an clean later not sure yet
@Retiredoldguy@DanB@Myfriendis410 I just bought these two air stones from Walmart and I’m wondering what is the difference with these and the circular air stones? I hope these aren’t too big to work for my pump huh?
Idk the difference between them, I can tell you without knowing how many liters per minute or gallons per hour your pump produces we can’t tell you if it’s big enough or not.
That should push that air stone no problem. And that should be fine for your 3 gallon bucket, your only gonna have like 2.5 gallons of water in it max, during flower your gonna be refilling your rez every few days I was in a 5 gallon bucket and was adding to it every 2 days in flower.
@DanB yeah well the air pump has two lines on it so I put two of them Stones like that on it, I started it a couple hours ago my seed had the smallest root coming out but I was so anxious I threw it in the root riot. Yeah I’m going to get some five gallon buckets and eventually turn one of these big totes I have into a system. This is how I have it set up, I just put the seed in there so you can’t see nothing yet but this looks about right huh?
These airstones sometimes don’t bubble the whole length without extra help. The two output pump is perfect. Hook up the two outs to each side of the single airstone. You almost always get more air from one stone than the two split out.
The only trick is the second input with the cap is designed for daisey chaining two of the flat airstones together. The input barb of one slips snug into the plug/cap of the other. Don’t do that either.
Take a piece of your airline. It won’t slip gracefully onto the cap side because it’s the same diameter as the cap side. Now microwave a mug of water or boil some in a small pan. Once boiling, dip the airline end into the water. Give it 3-5 seconds to soften. Next cram it onto the capped side that was too big. The airline will stretch like magic to about triple its normal diameter while hot. Now you have 2 output lines both feeding into one madly bubbling airstone. Then when it clogs toss it. And plug the second one in as a replacement. This will do you way better than both stones at half air.
