I don't know if i have all the right equipment

Hi guys, so I’ve been doing research on how to grow marijuana but every vid of course tells me different things. So i need peoples help just to know if I’m on the right basis or not and I’m only trying to grow 2 plants.

ALL MATERIALS: 600W led, Botanicare grow and bloom, 32’X32’ tent, trellis, shears, timer, temperature and humidifier gauge, carbon filter, 5 gal grow bags, pH meter and 2 6in fans. I’m confused on what type of soils to use, do i have to make my own super soil or could i simply use roots organic and mix it with Kindsoil in every grow stage? And with using kindsoil do I have to add any amendments to the soil?

Sounds like you have everything. Get some ph up and down. That light you have is only enough for one small plant. A 315w cmh is perfect for that size tent. Look into growing in coco coir. Plant growth is faster and if over fed, can be flushed easily

But if you have your heart set on kind soil @SilentHippie can help

Mix roots organic with Coco coir instead of kindsoil? And I’ve done more research how you guys feel about roots nuts liquids? Grow, Bloom and Trinity.

I meant straight coco and perlite. I did soil my first few grows then switch to coco and I’ll never go back. Plant does grow a lot bigger and faster

What brands you recommend ? Also on a tight budget, any other lamps you recommend thats better than a 600w led?

And with the coco and fertile mix i don’t have to add anything else in? I could used this mixture from seed to harvest and then use the nutrients of my choice throughout the cycle?

Yes, but you’ll need a calmag supplement too. For some reason you need it in coco. I get a tail from seed, put in rapid rooter into coco solo cup, start feed 1/4 strength nutes about 10 days later then to final home. I use 7 gallons pots

how far should my lights be from plants?

If you decide to use Kind Soil at the bottom third of the soil and then use roots original or Fox Farm Coco Loco for the top ~ 2/3 of soil then you only have to water and don’t have to worry about buying or using any other nutrients during entire grow!

As far as water ph range is 6.5-7.1 give or take
Use citric acid (Walmart $4 last hundreds of gallons) to lower your waters Ph if needed they don’t recommend using chemical based Ph up/down solutions as it harms the living critters in the soil.

I started my current grow in Kind Soil and read Silent Hippies grow and it seems it’s that simple
Kind Soil Roots organic original
Water Ph 6.5-7.1
Great Lighting
Air moving
Temp and humidity
Keep these in range
You water every 5 days more or less depending on size etc
Plants grow

Wish I had used Kind my first grow but then again I wouldn’t have learned as much but with summer coming I wanted to press the EASY BUTTON this go and will hopefully have my own super soil ready for the next round.

Anyway hope this helps and HAGD

I’m not trying to influence anyone either way and I don’t work for Kind soil but I can say that I’ve had 2 successful grows with this soil and will use it in the future. I was talking with another member and I believe that I could have harvested a bit more if I’d grow the traditional way with soil and nutrients but for the ease of use, Kind soil has it. I still feel this is the way for new growers to get started. You can experience success while learning about cannabis and how it grows. At a later date, if you want to increase your yields and try different techniques, you already have a good understanding of timelines and growth patterns. Just my 2 cents. However you choose to grow, good luck and happy growing! :sunglasses::v:

And if you need any help, just tag me. I’ll be glad to share my limited experience.

@SilentHippie You think 1 5lb bag of kindsoil is enough for seedling stage then 2 5 gal pods when i transfer?

@Kinzo
Refer to the pic I posted above it states how much Kind soil to use. If your wanting to grow 2 plants in 5 gallon pots you will need to use 10 pounds (2 bags) of Kind Soil.
I don’t use it with seedlings but some have. It is very rich/hot soil and by itself will decimate young seedlings etc. if you use for that would need to have regular base soil up top just like they show in the picture above.
I only use it in the final pot I will grow in until harvest.

Hope this helps and HAGD

1 last thing, Im not so sure about what the temps and humidities should be in each stage.

I run my seedlings in 4" starter pots and put 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Kind soil in the bottoms. The rest goes in the 5 gallon fabric pots. You don’t need an extra bag.

As far as temps and Rh, 70-80 degrees is fine. If it dips down into the 60s at night, you’ll still be fine. 80+ degrees is fine also as long as it’s not sustained.

Humidity, if you’re 40-60% you should be ok. A little less for flower, 30-40%. I’ve flowered in 55-60% humidity with no problems but it’s not ideal, promotes mold and bud rot. Thankfully, I kept a decent amount of airflow through the tent and it kept the nasty stuff away.

I use promix BX from
Start to finish myself you’ll need to feed them using this tho
Super soils are a good way to get your feet wet and learn about the plants as @SilentHippie has mentioned you can have great results using them and ease of use is a plus when learning
Anyway just wanted to stop by and say welcome to the community
yoube already meet some of our great members who have given good advice

Happy growing :v:CB :cowboy_hat_face:
