Keystone are you saying that i should look at the hlg 260 over the 100? i will look at the tsw 2000… thanks
Too small of light to have good results flowering 3x3. You want a 260 kit if using hlg stuff.
If you can afford to spend $350 right now, then the HLG 260 V2 is extremely efficient and will save you money in the long run. That’s over the course of years, you will spend much less on electricity. The HLG 260 V2 R-spec will give you excellent coverage for the full 3x3.
The Mars TSW 2000 will also cover the entire tent by itself. It’s about $80 less. Mars products tend to run about 1.7umol/j (light output/electric input), which isn’t as efficient as the HLG (~2.6umol/j), but it isn’t bad either.
It’s very hard to estimate how much additional light you need, because I can’t tell exactly how much good light you already have.
currently i have this
Phlizon CREE Cob Series 1000W LED Plant Grow Light Full Spectrum Indoor Plants Light Growing Veg Flower Cree Cob Grow Light with Monitor Adjustable Rope -1000W (Actual Power 250watt)
and i have one of these up to help out.
Benflor COB LED Grow Light 1100W Full Spectrum Lamp, Indoor Grow Lights for Veg and Flower Plants, Double Adjustable Knobs Plant Light for
I know that after talking to you that this is inadequate and i need something more substantial. I don’t want to have to put it together, i don’t have the tools for that, i don’t have a soldiering iron. I would love to go with HLG i think from what i have seen and read this is an amazing product.
i have this tent.
VIVOSUN 36"x36"x72" Mylar Hydroponic Grow Tent with Observation Window and Floor Tray for Indoor Plant Growing 3’x3’
2 fans circulating air, but i have to leave the tent door open and my closet door open to keep the temp and humidity right. I don’t have any exhaust systems at this time. I hope this helps cause i really want to get the right equipment to make the best bud. I am about quality then quantity. Thanks for all your help.
Thank you for the info. could you look at my last post i can use any advise you guys have. thanks.
I don’t think you need anything except a screw driver and wrench. If you don’t want to assemble it, I understand, but it’s a good way to save some money.
It can be a little hard to pin down the specs on Mars products. When they were using epistar LEDs they were at about 1.7 umol/j, but it looks like they improved it to 2.3 umol/j on the current version. I wanna stress that whatever the efficiency is, the light is plenty powerful for your space.
i can handle that if its all it needs… i don’t have the means to soldier.
If you look at the hlg site under the 260 there is a video how to assemble it
@KeystoneCops ok i have a question, i am looking at the kit for the 260, and it looks like 2 hlg 100 boards… could i use 2 100 v2 and achieve the same objective?
It (260v2 R-spec) is not the equivalent of (2x) 100v2. The 100 will flower 2x2, but my sense is that yield per sq ft will be lower than the 260. The 260 is ~280w and the 100 is ~95w, if that helps put it in perspective. Also, they have different spectrum profiles.
thanks for explaining that, it does help. i didn’t think about putting it like that with the wattage… i should have thought of that. I am looking for a kit now. Thanks for your help i really do appreciate it.
Yup, no soldering iron needed. You need screwdriver and wire strippers. Growerslights was assembling them for small fee too, but I’m not sure if they still do.
awesome i can handle that kind of install. i have to save up my brownie points with the boss so i can order me one.
Nice that they’re putting on mass. Your guess about finish is as good as mine; I’d scope the trichomes to make my decision.
Not sure how others feel about it, but I’d watch out for high humidity at this point. It sucks to lose a crop to mold.
the humidity stays around 50 mostly in the mid to upper 40s is that to high?
Didn’t you veg for a long time and they got away on you size wise? There is certainly a relationship between tent size and number of plants. Another variable is maintaining the number of plants you are growing to fit the tent. These are four northern lights 25 days into flower and are 18" to 22" tall.
They were only 12" or less when I put them on 12/12 cycle.
This my first time growing photos so I will know better in a couple of weeks if I got the relationships between tent size, number of plants and training (LST, pruning) methods are in sync.
You on the safe side concerning RH levels provided adequate air movement and fresh air intake. The relationships between temperature, RH and growth phase represented by VPD (vapor pressure deficit) is one many growers adhere to. In general, low RH is the target during late flower given certain temperature ranges.
The girls are filling in and fattening up. Keep an eye on the pistils. When they start turning brown and laying down check trichomes every couple of days.
those look amazing. i need to learn more about trimming. I have been wanting to try northern lights, you will have to let me know how it smokes.
to answer your question yes i did go an extra 2 weeks in veg before i switched over. i learned my leason on that and i will not be doing that again. i have been scoping the girls this week and so far they are either clear or white. no brown or amber yet. i will keep an eye on them from hear on out. I don’t want to harvest 2 soon like i did last time. I am keeping a record this time of all the food and temp humidity and how many weeks in veg/bloom. i think this helps as well with knowing where the girls are at.
i was going to plant 4 and i am glad i didn’t. i think the next grow will just be 1 plant until i can get a 4x4 tent and then i can do 2. I am looking at and been researching for my farm how to grow hydroponically but i am a long ways away from being ready to try that. I like the DWC system from what i have read. one of the draw back that i keep seeing is that food… veg in particular don’t have the same taste when they are grown hydroponically and i been curious how pot does hydro… i know lots of people do it, i just have to finish my research first.
@beardless can i ask what the net is for? i see alot of pics with that neating in there… what is that for?
Odd thing i I grow for recreation / hobby and don’t smoke. I will have to ask my wife
In my case I am using it to support and separate the buds and not for SCROG training.
I am clueless about hydro. I am pretty sure some of the mentors have recommended auto pots. I garden so I like dirt.
