Hi group, first time grower and thank you for the info on running a fan. I am using a 3’x3. closet for my first grow, sealed door but not air tight. As a trial run, I can control the temp easily 60-90 degrees. right now Im holding at 78-80 degrees. I have 5, two gallon pots with HF, watered and running a cool mist humidifier at 50% but my RH is at 34%? I’m using an Acu-Rite to measure temp and RH. Just ordered a ThermoPro TP60 to compare RH levels. Is there a better way to raise HR?
How strong is your exhaust? You can easily get a 3x3 up in rh with that humidifier if want. lower exhaust speed will increase humidity. good venting from top of lights also helps regulate by pulling that hot dry air out immediately. You are in a closet? If so it is much more sealed than a tent and can be pushed to 80% easily. What is your climate? Here we sit at 40-45% all the time. i personally just adjusted lung room and live with 50% max. I only push a humidifier with my clones. I chased that rh years. I now get in a large window and go with it. Strains that like the climate do great. Others i get doing well with my watering schedule. takes more as they transpire heavily. just my thoughts.
Do you have a fan running? If so, turn it off, see if RH goes up.
Hi Storm and thanks for the replies. I’m not currently running exhaust or a fan. I’m in the northeast area and outside temp is 40 degrees with an RH 80% due to rain the past two days. My grow closet is in a 12x12 basement room with concrete floor and block exterior walls, current temp in that room is 62 and 55RH. Im going to put a space heater in there to get the temp up in that room. Hopfully with that I will be able to raise the humidity in my closet. That’s all I cant think of to do. Only other thing is that my acu-rite is giving false readings.
I’m with @Storm the oil filled radiator is a good choice Very reasonable price. I have personally used that type of heater.
