How to transfer rockwool to hydroponic system

Hi there- I’m about to embark on my first hydroponic grow, I am using the HydraMax 2-bucket home system with their TetraBase as my support medium.

My question centers on how to go from seedling into the net pots. I am germinating with paper towel method, then transplanting into rockwool until they are ready for the net pots.

Am I supposed to place the entire Rockwall cube into the net pot? Or am I supposed to open the rockwool and remove the seedling and place that into the grow medium? Wouldn’t leaving the rockwool in the hydroponic system create a risk for mold or algae growth?

Check Roots:
The seedling is ready to transplant when it is about 2-3 inches tall and has roots growing out from the bottom of the rockwool cube.
Transfer:
Gently place the rockwool cube directly into the net pot or growing system. The roots will continue to grow through the rockwool and into your hydroponic setup.

The clay pebbles get placed in and you put the cube on top of the pebbles the roots will find their way to the water.

Could just start the seeds in the rockwool and avoid a few steps in-between

Thanks Dan— so there is no concern for the
rockwool itself to be a risk for algae or mold growth?

Keep the rockwool cube at least 3/4 way to the top or better and I wouldn’t see any reason. I. My DWC I use coco, Promix , pool noodle. Just about anything that will hold it

Use hydroton Grow Bro. Place a layer or 2 on the bottom of the net cup and place the rockwool cube on them and fill the sides and and a few around the top to help brace the young plant :love_you_gesture:
