As the title states, I am wanting to try and keep the genetics of a plant I have that is almost done flowering.
I have the room to try a reveg as well as clone. I would like to try both.
Any suggestions on the best way to go about this?

Reveg of a flowering clone can be accomplished so long as the mother plant isn’t an auto.
Thanks. Reading it I am not seeing if I should leave it on 12/12 to let it root first, then flip it back to veg, or just go straight to dealing with it like a normal clone.
Looks like they call it Monstercropping when you take a clone from a flowering plant unless I am reading it wrong.
I’ll try this out as well as a re-veg and see how it goes.
Put the cutting/clone on a 18/6 light schedule Grow Bro ![]()
Please keep us updated, im really curious.
Make sure you keep some leaves not just a bud on the cutting
Run the mother to the end and harvest 90% of it leave 10% at the bottom after harvest drop light intensity to 50% put lights on 24/0 for 7 days then back to 18/6.
The clone 18/6 from start will revert back after roots develop.
Keep us posted very interested in how it works out for you.
I’ve cloned several budding clones it just little longer to start and transition just little patience @Bubblegumfreak happy growing my friend
If you are cloning plants you need to remove the flowers from the cuttings because the cutting will continue putting energy into the flower instead of growing roots.
Aeroponic/ Hydroponic Cloning machines are the best way to get cuttings to develop roots. They are simply a plastic container with holes in the lid. The holes have sponge rubber in them to hold the cutting. In the container is a reservoir of fertilizer and water, and a water pump with a spray bar to spray the fertilizer solution over the base of the cuttings. Under good conditions cuttings can have a full root system 2 weeks after they were cut from the parent plant.
YouTube has lots of videos on how to make an aeroponics cloner out of a plastic storage container. These are not true aeroponic units but a hybrid between aeroponics and hydroponics, but they work very well. Alternatively, if you have money to spare you can buy something like a Turboklone (don’t get the lid, it’s useless and not needed). However, they are hideously overpriced and don’t have good quality components. They do work exceptionally well, but you can make them for a lot less than buying one.
@randylilgnome i never had them to do that they start growing leaves with the 24 or 18/6 light schedule they start new top on top of bud
You get faster root development if the cutting doesn’t have flowers.
Cuttings will continue to put energy into flowers or fruits if there are any on the cutting. This might only last for a week or two but it still saps the energy from the cutting and it takes longer for the roots to develop.
Ideally the stems that are going to be used for cuttings are trimmed of leaves and flowers a few days before the cutting is taken so the plant doesn’t have to heal the wounds after it’s been cut, and at the same time it’s developing roots.
The parent plant should be well watered and fertilized for at least 2 (preferably 4) weeks before the cuttings are taken. This gives the parent plant a chance to recover from any drought stress they might be under due to lack of water (not that common with home grown weed), and to repair cells and build up nutrients in the stems and leaves. The parent plant should also be watered a couple of hours before the cuttings are taken. That way, when you take the cutting it has lots of water and nutrients in and can develop roots quicker.
Thanks for all of the advice. I will follow up. I took 3 cuttings from each plant. I’ll also try to reveg them come harvest time.
Please make sure when you reveg you set the height of your plant because when she takes if not gotten small enough or tight enough to the stalk she is going to go massive. I just finished a reveg and was 5 months of trimming, supercroping and scrogging here is a pic
When revegged they love to grow out of control but can be forced to your will they are photos after all ![]()
.
Wish you the best luck on your clones and reveg.
