How to prepare marijuana plant for harvest?

Howdy,

What are some ways to prep the marijuana plant for harvest? At what point are they ready? What time of day should I harvest?

Hi Skunkblaster,

When a large majority of the stigmas have dried out and faded in color, then the buds are ready for harvest. The ovaries behind the stigmas will also start to swell into false seed pods. The tops of the glands that extend from the tissue will swell up so much that they appear as tiny balloons about to pop.

Some of the properties of THC include insect and herbivore repelling along with protection from the sun’s UV rays. During daylight hours, THC loses its potency to some degree. Darkness allows the THC to replenish. Thus, harvesting is ideal at the end of the marijuana plant’s dark cycle
