Concerned on if I’m going to over water or under water… currently on day 5 with these 3 autoflowers in 3 gal pots using Fox Farms ocean forest soil. My question is how much water should I currently be giving at this stage and how frequently..
I have been watering about 50ml or so plus misting around the top daily..
What youre doing is fine autoflowers need to build a root system and dont need much water at all once they get larger you increase. They like wet to dry they need oxygen to grow as well
Place a solo cup over them and water around cup lightly, this will make the roots expand out to find the moisture. Water again once soil is dry a knuckle deep, feel the pots weight, it should be light as a loaf of bread before watering. With a small plant in a bigger pot, water can build up in bottom as roots aren’t reaching it yet, the soil staying wet can tank your PH and cause lockout.
Thankyou! Will do what you said.
Its alright fellow brett (my names brett as well lol) im on my first grow right now and did everything i could to almost kill them too much water at first, cheap low level lights, no airflow, etc and thought i stunted but realized since they were still seedlings that they could bounce right back! Dont feel discouraged mine are fine
How close is your light by chamce and whats your wattage?
It’s is 23 inches about 320 ppfd to the canopy level and 150w Hlg quantum board led and thanks for the encouragement I myself am on my 3rd grow my first was a curveball my second was successful I just am overthinking these ones.
Hmm well its not your light then. On next grow try out fabric pots! They really do help
And yeah just keep on them no need to get rid of them theyre alive so thats all that matters
Everyday I wake up and stress over these things.. watered 50ml and slightly with spray bottle around the outer edge this morning after two days no water. Very little new growth day 8…
Just keep letting it ride all you can do. Can you raise your humidity up by chamce? Mine grew faster with my humidity up around 70 ish
For what it’s worth, i was dealing with a similar issue (they just weren’t growing, like at all) and someone here suggested putting a dome over my seedlings creating a little greenhouse effect.
I cut the bottom half off a 2liter bottle and kept it over my seedling for a couple days - lil’ lady shot right up.
They look good. Just relax and letem be. If sag from dry dont get excited and hittem with water hard. You are looking fine. Keep up what you are doing.
