How much light for veg stage?

How much light (ppfd) is optimal for veg? I’m thinking 5000K spectrum??
Bergman says:
|Life Stage | Maximum | Good | Minimum |
|Vegetative | ~70,000 lux | ~40,000 lux | ~15,000 lux |
I thought I had learned that lux is in reference to lumens which is useless for our purposes.
What is the correlation between lux & ppfd?

@dbrn32 can answer this better than I can.

Ppfd average of around 400 umols per second.

I was just reading an article on this that put the average 4k spectrum at approximately 15 umols/s/1000 lux didnt list 5k but had 3k at 15.5 not entirely sure how accurate the studies numbers are but definitely something I’ll be looking into deeper

400-600ppfd for early to late veg, 600-900ppfd for flowering. If you’re using co2, you can push those up to 1000+ppfd during flowering. This co2/high ppfd boost makes a very noticeable difference btw! Hope this helps. @ILGM-SLS

It’s more complicated than that, but there are some conversions floating around.

300–350umol/s will be needed for growth, 700–800umol/s will be needed for flowering.
