How Important is using RO filter for city water?

I tested my water from the tap. 144 PPM

For distilled or a really clean RO that could be an issue long term but the machines I buy from ($1 for 5 gal) have “some minerals retained or added” thing and the water tests out at 4-6 ppm, and if eating an balanced diet and drinking other things juices, wine, beer, whiskey, you’re getting all the vitamins and minerals you need anyway. I stopped drinking city water after hearing a warning in the news and then getting the city water analysis that showed high amounts of arsenic and other carcinogens, I’ll take my chances with RO.

@Myfriendis410 I tested my tap water and it read 7.8-8.0 and a TDS of 78 before and after 24 hours. I’m assuming this would be fine as a water to mix nutes with?

Absolutely and it makes me jealous haha. Mine is 550 at the tap…

@Myfriendis410 sorry man lol, I’m hoping that works well cause I’m gonna need a lot of water when I switch to flower and I was not looking forward to buying all those gallons lol

I hooked up the RO and went to 44 PPM. Not bad. The pH however is 9.6. I was able to bring that down to 6.8
