Hi everyone.
I wonder how these look to every one. They are sticky and smelly. It is really hot here. I was thinking of pulling off some leaves. To thin and let the sun get to these buds. What do you think? Do you think that they are almost ready? First time. Outdoor container grow. Florida.
I think they look great, but looks can be deceiving best of you send me a sample.
Will do. Wink! Can I pinch a few off and try it myself? I heard that I should get rid of some small ones so the big ones can get bigger.
Yes you can and yes you should. Loolypoping a plant is a great idea.
I was away the last part of flowering so I gave hubby detailed instructions on their care. First grow so kinda stupid on growing. He took off all the fan leaves ( thought he was giving them light) . When he switched to plain h20 they started dying & feeding off the sugar leaves . They probably needed 10-14 more days but had to pull.
Bottom fans are ok as in lollypoping, just leave them enough to feed on. Indoors I’d say tuck the fan leaves under.
Thanks, I’m an outdoor container grow in FL. Lots of sun and rain and privacy so why do it inside? First timer. 4 Very large pots but Moveable. I did that knowing that we could get a hurricane and all would be lost. Turns out that I was right about that. I brought them in for 24 hours they did great. Anyway thanks. I think I’ll try the lollipop ing. Been picking yellows and dried leaves off here and there. 2 are kinda scrawny but the other are bushy and getting dense so gonna do it. Have a great day. 3 white widow, 1 Gold leaf. Next purchase at ilgm will be an indication train. I have ptsd from the Hurricane
Oh girl, I feel your pain! Anything turning yellow pull. Lower limbs that won’t be able to produce good buds can go as well. It’s sometimes hard to be Mother Nature.
Lollipopping is only necessary for indoor Grows Where light will not penetrate the bottom… if this is an outside grow there’s no need to lollipop your plant… it should have plenty of light to reach all bud sites …you would be doing yourself an injustice by cutting things off of your plant especially if it’s outdoors… unless it’s yellow and dead I would leave it on…
Get a 60X magnifier (a few bucks on Amazon) and start looking at the buds. When the little mushroom-like things go amber, then you can pick. My pistils are mostly brown but the trichomes are not amber yet. Some want 20% amber, some 80%. 100% is too late.
THANKS @1BigFella, @peachfuzz@and @Laurap, being a newbie I get lots of advise, but have to make sure folks know I’m an outdoor grow. I just ordered the magnifier @1BigFella, 'cause I’m getting real close.
Sorry thought they were going inside for the long haul.
You’re in for a treat with that magnifier: Looking at the trichomes is like being on the surface of Venus. Completely unlike anything you have ever seen.
