Ok get out you ph meter clean it out in distilled water. Put it in a glass stir it around until it reads 5.7
to 5.8 roughly that is what my distilled usually runs.

Shake up your jugs. After you get meter reading right insert it into the top of the first jug move it around you shold be below 6.5 ph.

What did you measure at 6.5

I live in the country and get my water from a gas station from a water spicket that I fill my jugs up every time

I don’t know the ph of that drinking water they all are different.
Did you calibrate your meter when you got it
