I use the aprea PH and E.C.pens the Aprea line is a good.
Greetings,
Going into flower the cal/ mag will keep you from the plant devouring its self. If you see brown spots showing up that comes from low magnesium. Big fan leaves are your plants food pantry. It draws the nutrients from them and the brown spots shows on them first. This is not toget one self shaken up over just provide cal / mag from here out to finish. Also if you are only using the big three Big bloom, Grow big and Tiger bloom look at the chart if you see Bembe you can use unsulpurated molasses in its place I use a tablespoon per feeding when it tells you to start using it on the chart. As you see at the bottom on the last three nutrients you will see open sesame, beasty bloom, and cha ching. These are bud builders these help build them bubs a poppen. You should add a 1/4 tsp. Per gallon as well use as chart directs All mixed together at one time.
You are totally fine man! The more information the better! So please add all the information you want, trust me I’ll read it all. Just got home from work and checked on them and saw some spots that I think you were talking about (“orange spots”) and okay now that I have the apera pen it will go a lot smoothly! I’ll make sure to keep the ph in between 6.3-6.8 preferably probably 6.6 is what I’ll try to get.
Also not sure what you meant by lengthy but my plants are all different sizes to be honest. Is that ever an issue? Does it affect the other plants? I’ve read that if you have a plant that is a certain kind it could affect the others and to move it. By the way all the information I’m going off has been what I’ve gathered is the last 2 months ish. I started the grow on 11/17/24. So it’s been about a month and 9 days ish.
Okay! Thanks for all the information again man! I already asked @d-Jawz if he could help me out with it but he doesn’t use ff soil. If I show you some pictures do you think you could tell me if I should add some cal-meg? I noticed some spots on the specific sorta leaves you are talking about? Also do you use the fox farm line? What I have in inventory as far as nutes is the 3 main big grow, big bloom, tiger bloom, and cal-meg. Those are the 4 I have. I’m wondering if you grow in fox farm if I could I could try some of your methods out? I’m pretty new to this and the way I’m going about it this grow is apparently fine but isn’t that structured. I like to be structured and organized. This grow has definitely thrown me out of that lol.
Greetings,
I am a foxfram soil and nutrients guy. You need to use cal/ mag every feeding or watering from start to finish. You can’t go wrong using the foxfarm feeding chart trust in it. I use everyone off of the chart except i use unsulpurated molasses instead of Bembe. And i add the stump veg tea.
Ph all mixture s to 6.2 t 6.5.
Greetings,
Now your pics. I saw them the otherday and said they are getting into flower and they need the Cal/ mag, trust me. Keep using it 1 teaspoon to 11/2. Per gallon of water or into your mixture.
Greetings,
When you make up you 5 gallon pots for your next grow hit me up and i can get you going on how it load my foxfarm soils and why.
Okay so In your opinion since I just fed them last week 5ml per bottle of the big bloom and tiger bloom. What would do going into Sunday watering? (That’s when I water) if you don’t mind me asking. You are giving me a bunch of good information!
Greetings,
Follow the fox farm feeding chart week by week and notice when it tells you to flush your plants. Flushing is important to remove built up salts from the nutrients. This cleans your roots for better up take of nutrients and stop lockouts of nutrients and ph.
Please use the chart you can’t go wrong it is your step by step grow bible. If you have questions on reading the chart chime in.
Greetings,
Mix up a gallon jug at one time to avoid confusion notice on the chart every thing is per 1 gallon of water. Try toget more than one feeding per week. I for example feed every two to three days apart of the called for nutrients. A void over watering.
Greetings,
I use Fox farm soils. Strawberry fields, Ocean Forest and HAPPY Frog. Here is how I load my 5 gallon Rainsience pots. In the bottom 1 inch I put in lava rock, then I put in 3 quarts of Strawberry fields, then I put a food container 1 quart like you get from a restaurant that soup would come in open side to the top pushed to one side then fill around it with Ocean Forest. Then I lift out the container and fill the hole with Happy Frog. I put a golf tea in the center top of the happy frog soil so I can plant the germinated seed in the center of the Happy Frog a 1/4 inch deep. Before I plant the germinated seed I run 3 gallons of ph distilled water thru so as to avoid dry spots in the soil and to bring down the E.C. of the foxfarm soils as to no burn up my seeds. As you see I never up pot and I place the seed right into the final pot. I place a small drinking clear glass over the seed unil it pops and looses it helmet head or I have to assist. Once it pops I mist the seedling 3 inches around it lightly when it seems dry to the touch.
What do you mean by “you try to feed every 2-3 days sorta of the called for nutes”
Greetings
Get the foxfarm chart in front of you .when reading it it explains all of the meaning and instructions. Its a very good chart.
The way they are drooping it appears to need attention to watering. Are you letting them dry back between watering?
I do use FF soil, I don’t use FF nutes at the moment. I used to but working with dry nutes now.
But if my memory serves me right, I thought the Fox Farms Nute Chart amounts are double the strength? I remember I was told to use half the amounts given in the chart, but I could be having an old person moment, but I’m prety sure I’ve read that here. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Whatever chart you go by or the amounts it says to add, just measure your PPMs going in and you’ll be good.
PPM readings in soil .
Early Growth : 400 to 500 PPM — You won’t see too many particles aside from what’s in your grow medium.
Seedling : 500 to 600 PPM — The information above applies here, though any starter nutrients will affect the readings.
Early Vegging : 800 to 850 PPM — This is when you typically transplant. At this stage, not a lot of particles are needed.
Mid-Stage Vegging : 850 to 900 PPM — You’ll start giving your plants more nutrients at this point.
Late-Stage Vegging : 900 to 950 PPM — Nutrient intake increases as your plants prepare to flower.
Early Flowering : 950 to 1000 PPM — As your plants grow, they need to eat more. PPM readings will reflect the particles in the increased nutrients.
Mid-Stage Flowering : 1000 to 1100 PPM — Your plants’ nutrient intake continues to increase at this stage.
Late-Stage Flowering : 1100 to 1150 PPM — This is when your plants are eating the most, especially if you provide additives.
End of Flowering/Flushing : 0 to 400 PPM — At this stage, you’ll be flushing your plants. Ideally, you don’t want too many leftover particles at the end of flowering.
I copied that early on when I started growing, not sure from where. Happy growing.
Are you certain? I’ve taken the EC and PPM values shown in that chart to be their estimates of the input values – not the runoff’s.
BTW, the PPM values in the chart are based on the “700 system.” To get values that are comparable to the “500 system” that’s common in the US, the measured EC must be multiplied by 500.
Greetings,
Generally when using fox farm soil it can hold the seedling for about 3 weeks to 4 weeks with nothing added. If you follow the foxfarm chart at the top it shows the E.C. and PPM. If you adjust your pots using fox farm soils by running thru ph water until the E.C or PPM Is achived you follow the feeding chart to recommend nutrients. If you are using fox farm soils and not running thur to the correct levels I recommend going in at half strength at the 3rd week as not to burn the seedling. I would recommend using Cal/ Mag the duration of the grow.
@Venturi
Greetings,
I was always told and have been doing the fox farm chart for years to know what is in the pot for the plant to consume for that stage the plant is in as the reading for the E.C. and PPM. then to apply the following nutrients. Correct me if I am worng. I haven’t had any problems doing this way for years. Hellraiser was my teacher then and it’s worked for me, he also had me follow the E.C. and got me to buy a meter for it.
