does anyone have thoughts on the regular vs the XL for flowering in a 2x4?

I believe XL stands for extra long. It’s my understanding that is the one you want for 2’x4’.

yeah it just says they both will flower a 2x4… so it’s a tad confusing. but i suppose spreading the boards out a little is a good idea.
and i wonder if there will be any xmas sales? sucks i decided to do this all right after black friday. i totally missed out.
I wish I could remember where but somebody posted the XL kits at a price that was way cheaper than my DIY one cost me.
The XL looks to use the 3x288 heat sink and you just don’t mount the middle one so the spacing ends up being exactly what you want.
Maybe @dbrn32 remembers the place that had the good deal.

That’s exactly right. The xl uses the 36” heat sink. It helps reduce the light overlap so you have much more even light footprint.

I picked up a 260 xl Rspec kit a few weeks ago off growers house for 295. I look almost daily there for deals. Wish I bought two.

yeah it was like $275 a few weeks ago. i’m kicking myself. i can’t even get the 5% sale they supposedly have now to work.
I think those were black Friday specials. If not, I’m not sure

I’m glad I bought the HLG 260xl rspec x 2 but I have a 4x4. Worth the investment.

The vendor was Right bud . They had them for 279$ I bought 2 for a 4x4 and am very happy. They also said they would give a discount if 3 or more were bought. That was black Friday special. But the multi discount prolly still applies.

LED grow lights Depot has the lowest I found at 349.
Those Black Friday deals were off the hook.

i wish i had a crystal ball on black friday and knew i’d be throwing out my whole grow and would be trying to make up for lost time with this last minute tent addition.
i have a $25 off code for growers house, may use that. but maybe things will go a little on sale the 26th?
