Hisense window ac unit 24000 btu

So my grow shed is 12x12 I have a Hisense window ac unit and I also have a hanging garage heater . The heater as a thermostat on the wall which I have set to 65 and my window ac unit is set to 78. Ideally if it gets hotter then 78 ac kicks on if colder than 65 heat kicks on sounds correct right? That’s what I thought to. But everything with heater works according. My question is with my ac unit . It’s always running I hear the fan running non stop. Once it cools to set temperature shouldn’t the fan kick off? I mean it’s 14 degrees out side I don’t even think the ac is needed but I have no clue. My grow shed has 4 mars hydro fce4800 lights. Two are running at 100% the other two are at 80%. I don’t know I’m just trying to figure out why it’s always on even in the winter. I also have to Hurricane wall fans mounted on the wall to help circulate air which I keep those on 24/7 of course. But I know even when lights are out ac still runs. I’ve cleaned the filter thinking maybe condenser was hot but don’t think that is an issue either.

my window AC has a function called energy saver…in this mode the fan always runs …

Yeah mine has 3 fan settings low medium high, plus has fan, dry, cool, eco, heat setting why a ac unit has a heat option no idea . But thanks I figured I wasn’t the only one with a ac fan running non stop

I would bet your Heat setting is same as my Dry setting…not a heater just runs compressor more to dry the air relative humidity…but then again there are window units that are both an AC and a Heater.

Seems contradictory. Energy saving yet fan always runs?

yea something about not running the compressor as much was the explanation if I remember right…I mean I do smoke  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is the fan from the heater directed at the ac unit? The temps differences could cause the unit to come on?

Depends on internal control circuit of the wall unit. Like already mentioned, they can have different settings, setpoints, and functions. If the factory design is to run all the time and cycle compressor on/off, then the fan is going to run all the time. The fan and cooling could be separate issues though as well. In most cases to get a window unit to run from thermometer the internal control circuit has to be bypassed to control from the thermostat.

I run into this issue too. I gave up trying to solve it and going to get a wifi enabled portable ac unit so i can control the ac remotely

That sounds normal oddly enough. When I set mine to a certain temp in summer when it reaches the temp the compressor shuts of but the fan continues. I think it also helps lesson the condensation.

I had to get a (wifi) not thats it hooked to it. Lol
But i had the same problem with my older ac not kicking off when it was cold enough in the room. So i switched to this one and it shuts itself off when its cold enough. If i didnt find this ac i was going to plug my ac unit into some sort of thermostat unit with its own temperature gauge. To turn power to its outlet one when the temp reached to high and turn off when its low enough. You could them probably run it on the highest setting to get the shortest run time. Heres my ac unit and the thermostat style i was looking at. I DO NOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE with there heat controls. If i was going to go this route i would probably use spartan controls or somthing along those lines. I do use an ink bird humidity controller amd it works good. But if it failed and ran full time my dehu and dry function on the ac would still keepmy humidity at a decent level. I just dont want suggest something i haven’t used and have it fail on you. That being said i would still probably try it and see for $35? Also if get a GOVEE WIFI thermometer/hydrometer you can monitor your levels 24/7
