Hello fam, I have a question. So this morning I decided to do a watering with no nutrients and used three teaspoons of molasses and a tablespoon and a half of Epsom salts to a gallon of water and came back with 1,800 ppms. I know you don’t have to worry about ppms with organic and I’m guessing this is considered organic in a way so I just wanted to make sure that 1800 ppms I put in there is okay. I feed regularly with Fox farm. I’m in week 7 a flower. What do y’all have to say about this? Thanks
I dunno. You had me check mine. Its different but a starchy formula same idea
Not far off lol dontcha wish yiud never checked. I read around pH of organic inputs is not important, ppm never seen anything I can remember
@SausageMahoney @OldNailPounder any info on this?
I wouldn’t worry much about it. The molasses doesn’t feed the plant so those ppms are negated. Epsom will be good since fox farms tends to be very light in magnesium anyway.
@BobbyDigital thank you for responding I was trying to think of who all I could tag to help and your name slipped my mind. So a tablespoon and a half of epsilon to a gallon is okay? I have another question is it okay to feed epsilon at the same time as my fox form?
I always saved the epsom for water only days as I wasnt sure how it’d react to being mixed with the fox farms stuff. I believe if you made sure the Epsom was completely dissolved it’d probably be fine to mix with it but to err on the side of caution I kept them separate.
@BobbyDigital okay cool what I did was put a little bit of water in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then put my molasses and start it up and then put the Epsom and dissolve it then pour that into my gallon. I just can’t believe the ppms came out to be that much. This is my first time using that much Epson, I always use the molasses and never seen my PPM that I from it so either the Epson brought it up that much or I had some leftover residue in my gallon jug which hopefully isnt the case because I do tend to rinse them out before I fill them back up
I just read tablespoon. I never went more than a teaspoon.
That one is out of my ballpark. Glad you got good feedback.
I wouldn’t worry about it.
FF trio not organic though, just so you’re aware.
For me, I only use Epsom salt 2 x per grow. Week 4 veg week 5 flower (whether it needs it or not) 700ppm max for me.
I take one cup of HOT water and add a heaping teaspoon of the Epsom salt. I add 1/4 cup to a gallon of water shake well and measure the ppms. When the ppms come up 700 it’s done. Perfect dose every time
Yo! You add a 1/4 cup of epsom to a gallon and get 700ppm? You sure it’s not 70000?
No,
I take a 1 cup of Hot water dilute a heaping teaspoon of Epsom salt mix well.
I add 1/4 of the cup of hot water to the gallon of water shake it and measure it it normally measures 500 PPM I add a little more of the cup of water with the diluted Epsom salt to the gallon shake well measure again I’m usually right at about 675 - 710
The reason I put the Epsom salt in the hot water it dilutes it perfectly for a better measurement
Understood, lol, freaked out for a minute. Thought you were saying you added 1/4 cup of Epsom.
Me too, thought damn, no wonder you only use it twice per grow
Okay thank all of y’all for the answers. One of the plants is showing a burn or toxicity but the other one seems fine
