Help with Diagnosis :)

Hello All,

Just want to say that this community is amazing and the wealth of knowledge here is wonderful. With that said… Can someone please help me here.

This plant was recently transplanted into a larger pot from outdoors. I have NOT fed any nutrients and it is planted in soil medium. Do the yellow leaves look like stress or deficiency.

Also some of the middle leaves are super droopy.

At this age probably be easiest if you fill out a support ticket so we can better help diagnose possible issues.

COPY/PASTE the below list into your forum post.

Answer these simple questions the best you can. If you aew not sure, just bring it to oue attention. We will figure it out.

  1. Indoor or outdoor? - size of grow?
  2. Otigin of seeds?
  3. Regular, feminized, or autoflower?
  4. Origin of water. PH, EC/TDS of source water?
  5. PH and TDS/EC of if mixed solution?
  6. Grow method? Soil, Soil-less, Coco, Hydro, Aquaponics. Please explain.
  7. Nutrients or fertilizer system used.
  8. What typr of lighting are you using? LED, HID (MH, CMH, HPS), or Fluorescents? Please elaborate.
  9. What are the temps in your growspce? Day / Night?
  10. What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? Day / Night?
  11. AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier?
  12. Do you have a Ventilation system? Size? 4", 6"?
  13. Co2 Yes / No?
  14. How long have you been growing?
  15. What budget have you set in order to grow successfully?
  16. If you grow hydro, then please explain your hydro method. DWC, R-DWC, Ebb and Flow, Or; Other? Other?

16b. Size and temperature of solution in reservoir?

Always try to upload a clear picture in white light of any issues you may have to allow the community to identify your issue.

Anything you feel would help us give you more informed advice should be included. Feel free to elaborate at the end of the survey.

How heavy is that bag, bro? And when is the last time you watered. And the time before that. Judging by the age and your container to plant size ratio my first thought is overwatering. Symptoms look like overwatering too.
But I agree with JB. The ticket will help everybody with an accurate diagnosis.

I would like to see ticket too. Using thumb eyeball method, i would say could just be some transplant shock accompanied by lack of water. Put a nice ring of ph’d water halfway between plant and edge of pot and see if it helps.

Thanks for all the replies! I am stumped a bit because the symptoms of over/under watering still confuse me. Also this plant is funny because. The top looks good (nice and green and strong) the middle leaves are droopy and the bottom ones are yellow! Lol what the heck.

Looks like you could bring the PH up just a tad

Some more photos. Hopefully you guys can see the odd assortment of stuff I mentioned. The tops look like good growth though

I totally forgot about PHing muh water though… yikes

It looks thirsty to me. The bottom leaves are no great loss. It gives you the opportunity to add more soil. Can you be more specific as to the soil used. Lots of soil mixes out there. Some with more nutrients than others.
Water’s Ph of 6.0 for soil is too low. It should be 6.5. The ph, given it was recently transplanted should not be the cause of the problem. More for future.

Ah yes. I used the crappy Tractor Supply Co soil mix. I think it was miracle grow or something. I just mixed some perlite in.

I am SO paranoid about overwatering now because I killed so many plants already lol I’ll give her a drink today though

Dome cover prevents splash on leaves (looks bad too).
Water “OUTER” ring away from base of plant.

copy dat  thank you!!

Dome can be removed after monsoon

Yeah I’m with @beardless Give her a drink of water. In a 6 inch Circular pattern about 5 oz
Soil looks very dry.

Hey @eisenhorn I’d say your RH is really low for seedling stage. They are drying out the Vapor Pressure Deficit is around 2.60. That is really high for a seedling. The stoma are closed due to high VPD. Plant is smothering and needs to take a breath. VPD is also to high for a flowering plant that has fully mature root system.
Seedlings have very little roots and a very small leaf area. They can’t transpire which means no water or nutrients can be taken into the plant.

Do you have a humidifier? If not you can wet a towel and hang in your tent during the day to allow water to wick onto the air and raise humidity.

I’d also add some beneficial microbes to establish a healthy root zone.

Ahh thank you for that detailed response! So much good info.

I should mention the RH is measured in the tent but my seedlings are under humidity domes. Should this plant have a dome still?? And when should I pull the domes off

I would pull off the humidity dome after the the second set of leaves. You can’t control the humidity or temperature very well under the dome. Also too much condensation can damage your plants.

I pull off the dome before they go to the big lights. I have a small area of my tent for germination and early seedling stage. About two weeks after germination.
These are clones of the two plants in the earlier post. They stay in the germination/cloning area until roots have broken through rockwool plugs.

November 16 clones go in

December 11 roots are ready
Ready for the Bigtop

Ahhh gotcha. I just bought a seedling starter for my next grow!

How long does it usually take for the plant to break through the bottom like that?

I don’t know who is making up this soil but its some company that is branding it for multiple companies. You find it in tons of stores under different brands. But I recognize the look. I have a few tomato plants in it outside this year and I tell you it wont grow anything. I kept the plants alive by giving them Jacks 321 but even that didn’t do much. My plants in different containers did fine. And my plants in it look exactly like yours. Its like it barely feeds the plant at all and if you give it food it somehow kills it.
I should have known by the price it was an inferior product.
Good soil cost more but works so much better.
