HELP! QB120 without power

I got this QB120 about 3 years ago and earlier this year it just quit. The plug in had become disconnected from the board… seems logical to me that this is the problem. There is a plug in on the other side, still connected, but it doesn’t work either. Is there any way to repair this light?

@dbrn32 do I need a new light or can I fix this one?

You might have a bad power supply.

I can’t tell for sure in picture, but did the solder joint come apart or did the solder pad separate from board?

If the thr joint separated from board that connector isn’t going to work. If the solder just came apart, you should be able to solder it back on.

Did you send pictures to hlg and ask them? I’m wondering if they may just send you new board anyway.

Here’s a better pic. Is this the solder pad (yellow lines)?

I didn’t send an email to HLG because it’s been three years since I bought it, but I will if there’s a chance they could/would help.

Thank you soooooo much for always helping

It looks like pads are still on the board, which you should be able to solder connector to. I don’t think it hurts to reaching out to them. If they can’t help, solder it back on.

I’m concerned with V+, V- test points .They look brown from your pics. you can temp power from your driver to see if the board is still good. I’m thinking a over current heated the board and loosened your solder points.

I don’t know how to do this

There is two wires (load side ) in your power cord from your driver. you need a multi-meter ,set on DC to find positive, 2 hot splice connectors and 2 - 6" cuts of wire. Positive to V+ and common to V-. If you don’t understand anything I just said please don’t attempt this . Get someone who is more voltage friendly

I’ll have to find someone with this knowledge. Thank you

Ok ,I understand ,even in low voltage DC doesn’t feel so good. your safety is first
