interested in finally making the big splurge; want to set up something like a 4x4x6 and want guidance in finding best tent, lights, watering system, etc. Thanks in advance!
Best tents are probably gorilla but by far most expensive so look at castle greens tents, ac infinity fans. Alot of guys here will guide you to hlg lighting but i like sonofarm lights and cheap blurples for starting and veg and jacks nutes

Im a huge HLG fan. Another good light that ive seen is from Grow Light Science. Its all about budget. What are your plans as far as grow medium? Make sure to get a set of ph and TDS meters.

if I built my own they’d likely be substandard. I have possibly seven feet, maybe less, in height, and more floor space.

Give roots organics original blend a shot. Its little more difficult to find, but about same price and much more user friendly.
Get a good light and a quiet fan. Imo the automation equipment is overrated so if you’re on a budget don’t spend a lot on it. I would shoot for middle of the road tent too. Lube the zipper and check for light leaks, easy fixes that will save you couple hundred bucks. A good led light in a 4x4 will pay for itself every grow and probably last you 7+ years. The difference from good to mediocre here is also a couple hundred bucks, i would pay it.

You may want to look at an AC Infinity tent kit all quality components at a reasonable price you may want to add some extra light bars but good way to get started everything in one box just have worry about meters soil and nutrients.

Lung room gets noisy with some turbines.
My AC-I T-fans are quiet.
The A-fans are smaller and just as useful, for temp trimming.
Designing a system is great, get compatible or usable equipment.
Getting a tent System, would ensure compatibility of components…
HLG or AC-I has my money for all available hardware (tester, tuition for learning).
