Hi folks! I’m looking for help figuring out these leaves. I suspect, in this order, 1. Nitrogen excess 2. light burn 3. saline 4. Cal/mag/K imbalance. These are 3 rd week of flower, Laughing Buddha (it’s only happening on the left two plants, which are LB). The day I discovered this, I was just swapping from my old 1000w HID, which was probably 18 inches away giving 900 PPFD, to a 450W Vevor LED, which is now at 100%, which is 850 PPFD and 14" away. The N burn could me being too heavy with my final nitrogen feed, which I typically do in early flower.
Along with the LED swap, I’ve only applied pHd water to these girls since discovering this, and won’t feed again til I figure it out or it clears.
Both are on the same diet, same conditions. 75 - 82F, 50-55% humidity, 6.2 pH water, Gaia Green with minimal supplements (nitrogen, EWC, epsom, sometimes sulfate of potash for K (not yet applied to these girls), sometimes urine diluted 10:1, generally light supplementation).
The burnt edges suggest Potassium deficiency . Leaves turning down favors watering issues. With those bites, I’ll tag in @Budbrother , ringing your phone brother!
Some overwatering seems to be at play here. Serrations look angry. 6.2 needs upped into range. General fade to top with tips getting chewed, says Zn to me. What Gaia numbers?
Then taking the above inputs into count
What’s the Gaia numbers?
S fuels Zn (sulfates )
Zn fuels P (unknown)
Excess P Fe -Zn (+Fe from pee)
Adding Mg (no Ca supplementation)
Appears light on N
N fuels K (added recently )
Relying on Gaia for K so far (balances Fe from pee)
Analysis - Lacking Ca balanced to Mg that is needed for P K both tied to -Zn
Thanks. . .so you think a fix might be. . .? (I’m not thinking this is an overwatering issue, but I appreciate the thinking there). 24 - 48 hours later, it appears at least the same, maybe a bit improved after one simple watering.
I did do one full dose of CalMag during my last watering (Fri, October 18) but none on Wed., October 23). Still think so? On Gaia Green, I top dressed with 6 tbl. total for each 3 gallon pot (which is a little underfed) on the 18th. With Epsom, I only applied one tbl. on Oct. 18. EWC was about Oct. 14 and just a handfull on top. Urine, again, was diluted 10:1 and administered Oct. 18.
If adding calmag and Epson Mg still lacking balance to uptake P without locking Zn. Could need more P but to fuel the Mg that’s would be excess if adding both CaMg +Mg
