Help, is it ok to cut leaves off?

so i have these plants and from the looks of it the bottom two yellowish leaves are basically toasted.

could i snip those bottom leaves off with no precautions? would i hurt em by snipping off dead looking leaves like these? i appreciate the advice on these things.

I wouldn’t remove any leaves until it recovers from overwatering Growmie. What is your watering routine :love_you_gesture:

I agree. Looks like it has some watering issues.

i have a spray bottle i use to spray the top area till its damp, and than as of now it is in a pot with a thing on bottom, ill show a pic…

i put jus enough water in the bottom catcher to last a day till its dried up, and plus spraying the top part with the spray bottle. that first picture was probably taken shortly after spraying the top soil down .
other plants will be put in 5 gal fab pots with wick watering holders once they are ready to be transferred but for these specific little buggers i decided to go this route, mistake i believe…

anyways… the point is, those top leaves just started growing last few days and look healthy i think but the yellow on the first few leaves that came in came from the transition when they were moved into these new pots i assume from shock or something?

also am i watering it too much by watering it the way i am? thank you for takin time to give a reply

:point_up_2: most likely and way to soon for transplanting. I wait at least 14 days from breaking ground and that’s only if it’s healthy :love_you_gesture:

ya, they were in little tiny pots ceramic, it was the first 3 plants i grew with little research, i was using a 24w light in a closet, pretty sad tbh lmfao.
i made mistakes but those have been updated, new tent, new soil, new way of hatching the seedlings, new everything.
but i still wanna do the best i can for the first 3, i dont want to just lose out on any possible yield. just tryin to make sure that they turn out the best they can considering the little care and knowledge i could provide for them when starting out. i learned a lot since using this forum, learned an insane amount and am very grateful .
so just leave the leaves alone and dont overthink or worry too much about this leaf discoloration issue, let it take its course. that’s what i am understanding for this issue, if that’s correct, i appreciate the advice greatly :+1:, if i am mistaken, please correct me

What is the water sorce you’re given them and when you spray the soil, is the plant also sprayed?
Looks like one i had once after i gave it some really hogh ph water a few times.
My meter broke and i didn’t realize till my seedling about died😞
I correct the ph of my water and a week later it finally started growing agsin and looking better.

i use water from the tap, its clear water from the cold tap i wait for it to get to room temp, yes i usually spray the leafs as well as the soil just till it is wet on top.
i am waiting on a ph soil and water tester so i can not test the ph at this time, they are growing very well and green since they went into the new tent… took a few days maybe a week to start growing again since the transition but they are growing well and using the same water for the new plants which are growing spectacular :grinning: much bigger and better than the first 3 starting out, so i assume the water shouldn’t be the problem in that case
my only concern was whether it would be safe to cut those first couple leaves since they look to be dying anyway, but i think regardless they will eventually fall of themselves based on some other stuff i read.

I suspect its the ph, untill you get the ph pen try not to spray the plant itself.
Tap can be super alkaline (high ph) .
Its not always so bad for soil but the spray is like an injection, its quick acting…

I can’t know for sure but its a good chance this is all it is.

just to throw this in for comparison between the original 3 vs since the new techniques i learned reading through the forum

thanks for the tip, i will avoid spraying the plant itself from now on :+1: once i get the testers i will most likely be asking questions such as how to raise or lower ph balances in water, ect. unless u can answer that stuff for me?:yum:

That’s good practice for sure :+1:
So much information online it can get overwhelming.
People do things so differently and alot if times it all works.
I try to do things as simple and not stress, i plant extras do im never to bothered if i lose one

You got this :+1:

So balancing the ph requires a ph up and a ph down solution.
I use these, theres many brands but i use whatever is cheapest.

You will need these along with the ph metter for sure. The meter is only half the ph, it tells you what it is but you will need to adjust it to get it in range.
If growing in soil it needs to be between 6.2-6.7 ph with most people going at 6.5 right in the middle…

If in coco-coir or any other hydroponics then most always ph would need to be 5.8-6.2 range.

I used peat pots and when I seen the roots just barely growing out of them I just put them in 3 gallon pots with the the peat pots and they grew very well
