If i remember correctly once he hits around 62 he seals them up with no more burping and for long storage sealed up in the freezer.
@Hellraiser im about to start a zkittles and Durban poison grow… I got 5 of each feminized seeds. So this is my first time growing ever for my light I’m running a Mars hydro tws 2000 led I got a 4x4x6 tent for my nutrients I’m running emerald harvest cali pro 2 part pro series included with the sturdy stock and cal mag both made by emerald harvest, and for my soil I’m running Fox Farm Ocean Forest! I was wondering for the germination process can I use red solo cup with only ocean forest pot soil and for light I was going to use this
Will I be able to germinate in red solo cups with that light then how long into veg and what size pot should I use after I got all my seeds sprouted and how many weeks until I can start feeding them my nutrients after they sprout and do I have to keep the soil moist 24 hrs during the germination stage or how many times should I water? Sorry for all the questions man I’m new I’m just trying to have a good first grow thanks for all the help anything helps please if anyone has any advice please feel free to let me know some valuable tips!! I have a feeding chart I can show you a picture of so maybe you can walk me through the feeding process in a more simplified form lol like I said I’m just starting out anything helps please haha!!
This thread had a TON of info and goes through his whole process. Worth reading imo.
Thanks I’m still new to things so anything helps really @MaD-VapoR
Just go with the feeding schedule dose for how old your plants are, though the FF schedule assumes you’re only gonna veg 4 weeks so if your still in veg after 4 weeks, you keep following week 4 dose as long as you are in veg, then go with week 5 dose when you start flowering.
Interesting, bought a jug of the Stout MSA to try out.
I like anywhere from 58-62 RH for long term storage (the extra sticky stuff I like a little drier) and I’m now doing final slow drying and burping in the CVaults so once they are moved to jars, no more burping will be done. They will remain sealed until opened to smoke - however long that may be.
How did you remedy the hard water?
My son is in Guelph Ontario Canada finishing his undergrad degree and his water is very hard. I’m doing a bit of reading on that now. Hoping this year I’ll be able to see him.
As for the root bound plants, I just got caught up helping out a friend right around transplant time last summer and just flipped the light to 12/12. It wasn’t until the buds kinda stalled around week 4 that I started thinking about what was wrong. By process of r err limitation I finally realized that I’d followed @Hellraiser’s grow tips pretty solidly but neglected to transplant to larger final container. It was very humbling to put it nicely.
I did get a new light built and my original 4 board light reconfigured as a result so it’s all good now.
I up potted them all into fabric bags with FFHF/perlite and Mykos and after a mild week long shock they are getting close to finishing.
Lots of experience gathered along the way and I’m grateful for the kindness everyone here shares with the knowledge.
Just love the way folks jump in to answer questions or provide links when someone needs help. It’s amazing how much time people invest in others here.
Especially right now.
Yes, that would fine. some find ocean forest too hot for seedlings but I’ve never had problems with it.
That light should be fine for germinating/starting seeds.
Check out my gorilla grow thread, walks you thru everything you need to do from seed to harvest.
what are your thoughts on doing initial cure in 5 gallon sealed bucket then to jars for storage? I had over 30 half gallon jars to burp last run and it was tedious.
I’ve mixed Ocean Forest with a nearly nute empty potting soil. It was 1-0-0, can’t remember the name of it but I have the empty bag hidden in my shed. Worked great at a rough 50/50 mix for finicky strains.
I’ve no experience with this, but one would assume that as long as the buckets can actually create an air tight seal then it would work. Initial cure like that could be thought of like bulk aging fine wine before bottling for distribution. If it’s all together for the cure/aging, then your final product should all be the same quality without any variation.
HR, When you did the app for the controller. Did you have any issues with it. I got it in but it keeps telling my location needs enabled. And it is. I am wondering if I should dump the app and try again. I suck with smart phones
When I first joined, one of the other members was in the process of curing 16 pounds of Sour Diesel: he used Homers and used for long term storage. We used them at the distillery to store experimental spirits and did an exceptional job.
I wish I had this problem
I caught this guy a few months ago…looks interesting. Definitely could be DIY’d
This guy took Gilman’s idea and down scaled it.
Hellraiser have you ever heard of letting the sucker leaves fall off before you transplant it to a bigger pot?
Good morning hellraiser. Do you use any lava rock or anything for drainage when you transplant your seedling in a bigger pot?
That would be fine and similar to when I used large tupperware containers.
Nope, no issues like that using the iphone app.
