@Hellraiser I am new to the forum and to growing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.I am shopping for a first tent and debating on a 3x3x6.
I have plenty of room outside the tent for the fan/filter.Will a 6 foot tall tent be enough?I will be using the a HLG 260w rspec.
Thanks
I was lurking and seen this and my.inner wow came out. Im Italian and live in a small Italian village and I know how u feel. Always hungry
Yeah I grew in 6’ tents for years with no problems, just need to not let plants get too tall in veg before flowering using topping, FIMing, LST or other ways to keep them shorter.
Good choice
I’m jealous of the food you have access to. I’ve visited Italy many times and love the food and the people there. I grew up mostly in Germany and spent a lot of time all over Europe and go back to visit often, love the european lifestyle.
Since I see u on, should I not be doing anything with photos to let light inside? Was just minutes before pictures and instantly went to rest. That’s quick. Must be tired from 18hrs work.
As in light inside the plant.
I was born and raised in ny but its where all the Italians immigrated to haha but thats cool bro I wish I could go to Italy for a bit
I try not to bother my plants during the dark cycle but not so crucial in veg, but don’t want any light during dark cycle in flowering.
No, I meant as in opening up anything on the plant itself. Definately no light gets in beyond the outer leaves.
I need to make my questions clearer. Making myself look stupid it seems! When lights are on and penetrating plants. Seems none would be getting to the inner growth.
Not a problem in that stage of growth, the large leaves are taking in the light and fueling the growth for the rest of the plant. The only leaves I remove at that stage is any down low that get in the way of watering. A week or 2 after topping or FIMing is when you may want to do some leaf defol to get light to the branch tops.
Suggestions on raising lamp? As you can see, im maxed out when using the rope ratchets and hanging wire that came with lamp. @Hellraiser
Something I’ve done is connecting the wires to both corners on the short sides and then connecting the ratchet to the wire middles. Trigonometry for exactly how much this would give you but you nearly 1/2 the distance between light and ratchet.
Or fold each wire in half , remove the large bena and connect directly to the ratchet bena
Yep, several options, just like to hear others input. Thanks for chiming in.
Could also if budget allows ratchet every corner and remove the wire entirely
Was just thinking that. I have a ton of ratchet ropes too. Caribeaners may not fit holes in lamp. Im pretty savvy rigger though. Doing what i do for living. Builder/remodeling. Ill get some smaller caribeaners for lamp holes to start.
Large key loop things ya put your key on if that made sense , there cheap as chip
Yep. Just to get a couple inches up for now, I’m removing wire hanger clips that are attached to rope ratchet clips, and wire hanger straight to ratchet clips. Cut out the middle man. Hit ace today for some parts and pieces.
Be careful not to get the light too close to flamable objects. All my HLG lights say no closer than 17" I think. I was gonna make a heat shield for the top of the light, like you would use on the back of a wood stove if I need more height.
Hellraiser I have a question for you. I know you have been growing for years so you have all the experience to look back on. You were feeding the Blue dreams 650 in vedge. Mine did great at that number, I used it because you were. How did you come to that number so quickly? If you know nothing about a certain plant what is a safe ppm to start with? I know I can sneak up up on the ppm but after watering you have to wait for it to dry. What is a safe ppm to start with? Do you have certain numbers you start with in different stages of growth that you use? Also another question with AN nutes. I check run-off just to see and I’ve never had a RO number lower then a 1000, plants doing great, I’m confused.
I just have my ratchet connected to a carabeener thats attached directly to light and same for the other side. Just unclip it from the pole on top and clip to the other side of your light. Remove the plastic coated wire that the light came with ![]()
