Hellraiser grows Gorilla Glue and other stuff

@Hellraiser Dude I think i smoked your platinum bubba kush like a month or two ago! Its not a strain you see everyday, I couldn’t find any info on it when looking it up on leafly and other sites and it looked perfectly identical to the nug you posted! They were fat ass nugs and fluffy like that with the long leafy stragglers. I’m really good with faces! lol. I’ll just say i live in the southern side of the US

Also in my 4x2x6 do you think I could comfortably grow 3 plants scrogged? I am using the wonderful HLG 260w v2 rspec. Its not the XL but it says it can still flower 4x2

@Hellraiser I keep reading from a bunch of sources that coco grows can be great if you feed nutes on a regular basis. How strict of a schedule would that be, in a nutshell? I was considering trying that method based on what I read, but being that this is my first grow, I obviously went with the more forgiving soil

I have a question on the DE. I bought some and the instructions say to mix 2 cups of DE with 8-10 cups of soil in a bag and shake it up real good. Then apply it to the top of the bucket. I did that and every time I water the plants the soil on top gets hard and is pretty solid. After it dries out a little I crumble it back up so the soil is airy again. Does this sound normal?

Sure, just top them and start training them into the screen at about 5-6 weeks veg so they aren’t too big yet so you won’t have too much overlap, once they fill most of that screen with a nice canopy of tops, flip into flower.

On the coco I just started looking into it a few days ago, you’d be feeding ferts every time you water, and you have to water way more often. Soil spoils you with watering every 2-5 days or whatever but in coco watering every day and even multiple times a day is the way it seems, and always watering to a good amount of runoff - can drive up what you’re spending on nutes big time. It’s a drain to waste hydro system using coco as the medium, you can do a whole lot of hand watering or setup an auto feed system. I’m not sure if it fits my style of farming just yet, I’d have to automate the watering, I’m not home enough for multiple daily hand waterings.

I don’t do that, I just sprinkle the DE on top of the soil and don’t use very much, but yeah that stuff can compact down pretty hard if you use a lot of it.

@Hellraiser Yea I’m not either. That’s why I asked in fact. I’m loving your results with soil and sounds to me like its the best option for my schedule. I bought all the nutes you’ve posted in this thread and am following you every step of the way! Its kind of perfect because you’re about a month ahead of me with this grow, so I have plenty of time to plan accordingly! Happy growing to you good sir!

May the growth be with you!

May I ask where you have been reading about Coco trying to learn all I can on it as it is what I’m currently using or a mix of it anyway

What nutes do you use @Hellraiser

Advanced Nutrients Connie line.

Mostly searches on the forum here for coco and some discussions with coco growers here on their watering/feeding habits.

I agree with @Hellraiser about the Advanced Nuts I switched from fox farm products because of that issue. I don’t have an RO system yet so my ph is all over the place some times, so I started keeping a water log. I test my water and add usually PH Down because I run high around 8.5 and I know how much I need to get the water where I need it depending on run off from previous feeding. Once the log has the data I have been able to make my water .02 -.03 to slowly make any adjustments to the runoff.

I joined the topic late just felt like throwing out something I had to do to keep my PH under control, it was something that I had to learn the hard way after killing a plan. the log helped more than I ever thought it would.

Yeah, nIce timing to see everything that’s coming up for your plants, glad it’s helpful to you. Yeah soil has been very convenient for me and trouble-free and with my perpetual grow with 2 tents, there is no benefit to grow my plants any faster/bigger than I am doing now, in fact I really have to hold back so my girls don’t get too big in veg, as fast as my girls grow, I’ve actually been holding them back.

With my memory, I have to keep a log, only problem is remembering to put data into the log.

I started doing the same here on the forum. I did a fair amount of research before using it but after seeing your comment on it I was like what? Still happy with my choice

I am also doing the Perpetual grow. I always have at least one of my two in flower, and now with the shelf for clones and small veging plants they only spent about two weeks in the grow space in veg before I flip the timer to 12/12. I use to do three but it got to be too much now I just run two.

Took a bit to get there but at current rotation I am harvesting at least one plant every 4-6 weeks.

Yeah i like having a separate veg and flowering tent, pull a pound or more harvesting 4 plants every 8-10 weeks using clones and/or fem seeds, don’t have to waste soil, time and space on males.

I am 90% clone and 10% seed I drop a seed I pull from dispensary stuff from time to time just for something new if I pull a fem I clone her.
