Some sink, some don’t, doesn’t seem to matter much, I’ve had floaters and sinkers that germinate just fine.
Yep, just a screen to keep out the bugs.
@Hellraiser Man, thanks a lot for getting back to me and taking the time to answer everyone else. Very appreciated. I tagged you in my new journal. Im sure I’ll be picking your brain every now and then if its ok
Sure thing.
Good seeds and expert guidance on first grow under LED’s
Thanks to @Hellraiser @dbrn32 and everyone that shares their experience and constructive criticism.
I’m about to repot into 6 gallon nursery pots as opposed to cloth sacks since I’ll be moving the tent for holiday guests visit. I can better tell if they need water and easier on my back to move around.
Will be 12 weeks in veg 09/17 under 4 qb120 light 18/6 in FFHF and using 1/2 dose AN as needed. I’ve been timidly training and trying to let go of perfectionism. Have 3 Bergmans gold leaf and 1 pure indica 1 Bubba kush and 1 Grand Daddy Purple. I split the trunk on one gold so went to using long pipe cleaners. I have one that is just beautiful and my humble homage to @Arrow
So I’m just grateful for this new venture and without this forum, I’d probably have quit.
Only thing left is hooking up the cloud line 6” and carbon filter which is way overdue. I’ve finally decided to improvise a temporary and portable mount out of concrete deck supports and 4x4’s to mont the fan outside the tent. If I can keep the canopy relatively even i will change the light and start flowering. Whatever comes of this is light years ahead of anything I ever grew back in the day. TY to all ILGM members.
@Hellraiser Are you going to start another “how to” now that all is harvested? I would love to see a new grow now that you have the LED’s. And the exact amount of nutes each time at each water. Yes, this is definitely a big ask but I am about at harvest and will be starting my second grow. So yes, this is really, really selfish of me

Thank you for the kind words…we are all here to learn from each other… stay safe, stay well and stay lit…![]()

About a month old and its looking decent so far considering what its been through. It seem to take the topping very well as I saw new top sites growing a couple days later.
I noticed the leaves were getting a little darker compared to the new growth and when it was younger. Is this a sign of a toxicity maybe nitrogen? I notice some clawing on the leave tips
Lol but shoot I’m right there with you! On my second grow now as well. Wanting to continue to soak up all the information I can. We definitely could still learn a lot by going back to the beginning of this journal and rereading it all. This journal has everything you could want to know in here somewhere I swear.
Here is a few colas of the WW dried after a slight wet trim. Thank you Hell, for everything! Some amazing smoke/high from following your guide.
Yes, going to start up the next batch of seeds in a week or 2 and can document every watering and feeding.
Yes, clawing is a sign of too much nutes, cut back or do a couple water onlys before feeding again.
Nice big frosty nugs! Looks great!
It’s in Happy Frog soil for about 2 weeks and haven’t fed it additional nutes yet. So do I flush?
Probably just got a hot bag of Happy Frog, it happens now and then. It’s not too bad, I’d just keep watering it as usual but try to get some extra runoff so each watering is like a mini-flush and she’ll get over it in a little bit.
Music to my ears!!! Dr.Zooted and I will be those guys sitting in the front of the class!!! Thanks Hellraiser for all the info.
Ok thanks, I was scared of watering until runoff at first on a 3 gallonn pot because I thought I would over water based on how much I was feeding it off the solo cup, but haven’t seen any overwatering signs yet.
@Hellraiser, thanks for replying on my journal. You must spend an hour or 2 catching up and replying to everyone. So, EVERYONE, yep even newbies, if you have seen this before can you please help identify the problem? The discoloration is from water drops on leaves. She is my runt. She got super dark green over the last 5 to 7 days. Now she is getting new growth that is malformed and also dark and waxy looking. Like a shiny fake plant.
I heard of some microscopic bugs that nest in the soil so I am going to lightly sprinkle DE on soil. I’m open to any and all suggestions.
Are you pHing every watering? I had some irregular growth at one point in my grow, assumed they worst (bugs), but I think it turned out to be the fact I wasn’t pHing.
Shiny, waxy and dark is usually from too much nitrogen, seems she’s in too big of a pot to consider flushing so may have to just ride it out for a while.
