Or, did you loose the decimal?
925/500 = 1.85 - at least that is how my bluelab would read.
Never operate equipment without at least 2 cups of coffee.

Why not the bluelab ppm meter I think it does the same thing but is cheaper. I use the bluelab ph and ppm meters and they work great

Before i respond I would just like to say I just put my hand on a hot soldering iron as I went to type. Ok where was I. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with it. I have the apera ph60 for ph and a $7 ppm. I read just get the chepos. I probably should buy a couple back ups. The truncheon seems like the ultra durable option for the ultra clumsy. I have arthritis and already dropped my chepo into a jug of water when my hand wigged out. I snatched it out fast and it seems to be working ok. I am afraid my days of freehand body piercing are long over. :laughing:

@Hellraiser I tried going through your journal but i mightve missed it because of the overwhelming amount of helpful information haha i love it! i was wondering how tall do you let your plants get during veg before you flip? When do you also start putting the screen on them, what height?

Thanks

I’d get rid of these small branches and branches like them.

You can do a lot of trimming or not, some growers never remove a single leaf. But I’d at least do the big fan leaves to open up your canopy some and let more light hit your mid and lower buds.

Thank you!

I’m gonna give my cheapo EC/PPM meter (that was screwing me this morning) to the daughter and get myself something better - not blue labs truncheon better ($$$) but I was thinking of getting an Apera EC meter to match my Apera pH meter. Look like this one only does EC, which is fine, there would never be any confusion over EC/PPM modes.

No, was in EC mode which I never use but my daughter has been turning into a Dr Bruce Bugsbee fan and wants to do everything in EC now, because he does in his videos.

Yes, should have drank the coffee first. Never do anything important before coffee.

My plants get a little over 3 foot tall in veg. I put the screen on them after moving them to the flowering tent - their final home, same height. I’m not a real SCROG’er, I just use the screen to separate and support the big colas so they don’t fall over (better than having to tie them up for me). Real SCROG’ers train their plants into the screen in veg.

A lot of what I do is because of the the perpetual grow system I use with dedicated veg and flower tent (that I’m rethinking). I have to wait until the flowering tent is emptied to get the next group in there so that often forces me to veg long than I may have wanted to, though I like long veg times - I’d always do 8 weeks veg at least.

I am thinking about going back to independent full service tents, veg and flower in the same tent so I can flower whenever I want to and not to have to wait for the other tent. I’ll be picking up another Gorilla 3x3 tent before making the switch, and some more lighting. I’m not sure why I thought having separate veg and flower tents would be more efficient, it’s not proving to be…

so you get an even canopy by just topping or what helps you achieve that? @Hellraiser

Yes, just topping and selectively removing fan leaves that are blocking light to the lower branch tops as needed. I seem to get real lucky with even canopies, I just visualize it and it pretty much just happens.

My hydro store had some bud factor x 1Liter for 40.00 so I bought some, should I add 4ml per gal through flower? I’m no grand master lol thanks hell

Yes, 4ml/gal through flowering, twice a week ideally.

@Hellraiser Thanks for your response!

How long has your daughter been growing her own, and compared to your ILGM followers,how often does she hit you up with grow questions? I know you’re passionate about teaching.

@Hellraiser
That exact branch you marked, and the one across, I had trouble letting her catch up to the rest, it was always shorter. Any idea why? or tips to help her catch up and be even with the rest?

I did try to remove any large fan leaves that would block light from reaching the lowest branches

She just started taking care of her own plants because I challenged her to get thru a complete grow without my help and she ā€œknowsā€ she can, she’s been helping with the watering, nute mixing, defoliating, trimming, and harvesting for a few years but it’s different when you have to do everything on your own. She’s setup with her own 3x3 with a HLG 260 Rspec I built from spare parts, she’s just getting past the seedling stage, coming up on the first transplant, not a single question other than where’ this or that so far, but’s she’s seen it all and thinks she knows it all (and she does know a lot from seeing it first hand many times and being involved in every step of the grow and with me always explaining why I do what I do), she’s a female version of me really, looks like her mother but with my drive and personality.

I don’t think she’s gonna need any help, I just wanted her to go thru it all to see for herself that she can do it without me.

There’s no catching up at that point. I would have removed it long ago.
