Hellraiser grows Gorilla Glue and other stuff

Thank you does the time remaining on your light play an effect when topping such as I plain on doing right after I get home at 3:30 leaving roughly 8 hours on my light or would you rather do it later before the light shuts off and they rest

Doesn’t seem to really matter, I’ve done it all times of day with no problems but it may be easier for the plant towards the end of day so they get that night cycle to help close up that wound

Hellraiser do u use the tops as clones?

I could have but no, I’m not ready for clones yet. Will do that right before I move these girls into flowering.

Well first let me say thank you I hope you don’t mind me asking you questions throughout my journey and when I say this is my first time I mean this is my first time I have a 4 by 8 tent and I think it’s about 7 foot tall because I’m 6-2 and I could stand up in there pretty well I have a total of 11 seeds but I don’t know how many I can grow in there so what I’m asking is how many seeds do u think I will feel comfortable growing in there

I forgot to mention I have the spider Farms 4000 Watt light LED so I guess the correct question would be how many plants do you think I could fit under there

@Hellraiser is very helpful and informative in and outside his grow journal pretty sure every post I’ve made he has helped me with from not knowing how to use a TDS meter to hanging my light at the correct distance

I follow it, and very happy! Good luck!

I know when I was reading through the journal I just could not believe how much information he was giving and how informative he was I was trying every way to save the page and I had no clue how so I ended up joining this form just so that I could take notes because I have no clue what I’m doing besides but I’ve researched I was going to try dwc Built it set it up everything just never used it was to nerves with ph and ppm with all that water so gonna try soil I have both happy frog and ocean forest I read soil is more forgiving lol

@Finesse00, nice big tent you got there. Ask anything you want, no problem. If it was me, I’d do 8 plants in your tent, 4 per 4x4 area.

Your light, the Spider Farmer 4000 is not actually 4000 watts, it’s a 450 watt light. That light will be OK for a 4x4 area (4 good size topped plants), so you’d need at least 2 of them to decently cover a 4x8 area, and 3 of them would be even better for max yield potential.

@Finesse00, also with 11 seeds, I’d germinate all of them and grow out the 8 healthiest/biggest ones, assuming you’d get at least 8 seeds to pop. I never expect all seeds planted to make a perfect plant, some seeds won’t germ at all, some will be runts, so I always plant more seeds than I plan to grow out and go with the best performers.

Wait so this light isn’t 4000 watts I really thought it was I paid a lot for that Light well I’m not going to return it now unless you feel there’s a better life for that price

Chinese LED manufacturers love to throw numbers into light descriptions that have no reason to be there. There is nothing 4000 about that light, need to look at the the real numbers:

Model: SF4000 LED Grow Light
Max Yield:2.5g/watt
Veg Footprint: 6 x 6 ft Flower Footprint: 5 x 5 ft
DB: 0dB
Humidity ≤90%
Lifespan: ≄50000 hours
Input Voltage: AC100-277V
Lumen: 79296Lm±5%@AC120V, 79095Lm±5%@AC240V, 79395Lm±5%@AC277V
Amp: 3.787A@AC120V, 1.864A@AC240V, 1.641A@AC277V
Draw power: 456.9W±5%@AC120V, 438.2W±5%@AC240V, 439.8W±5%@AC277V

The most important information there is the draw power, it pulls 456 watts from the wall, so it’s really a 456 watt light. And even in their exaggerated description, they say it’s only good for a 5x5 area in flowering.

The light is not a bad light when you look past the marketing BS, good parts - Samsung 301B diodes and Mean Well driver. But it’ll only be good for lighting up half your tent (and 4 good size plants) at most and bigger/better LED lights will cost a good bit more. Could start with that light and do 4 plants under it and add another light when budget allows. Fully lighting a 4x8 is not cheap for sure.

I always wondered why lights get labelled with high watts, then in reality its like u divide by 10! Then when I read to get a 30 watt bulb, I have to wonder, do they really mean 300 watts? Confusing. Misleading too.

I sent an email to AC Infinity because one of my fans controllers was beeping occasionally even though I had no alarms set, and there was no trouble indicator on the display. They responded almost immediately and 2 days later UPS delivered a brand new unit to replace the one that was beeping, but otherwise working fine. You can’t beat that for customer service!
