Hello all. I've just found out this title needs to be 15 characters

Alot has changed round here since I was last posting, in 2017. I stopped growing as I bought a public house (pub), and I just didn’t have the time to dedicate to my girls.

Electricity has also gone up to in the UK so it getting expensive. But now I’m on an EV tariff and 11pm to 7am my electricity is now 7pence per kW. And day rate is 26p so a big saving

So I’m here to see what’s changed in the world of growing over the last 8 years. I still have my set up, still there in hibernation, and I just came across a hand full of Afghan seeds in the back of a draw. So I think next week I’m going to see if they germinate after all this time.

I’m doubtful they will, but the site I used to buy off is still going and now cheaper than in 2017, at £21 for 5 Afghan, back then it was £30.

Sooo… I’m again getting interested in having my life dictated to by some more ladies.

So hello people, you maybe hearing a bit more form me, as im no doubt going or be rusty and even out of touch with any new stuff

Cheers mate. Much appreciated. I remember this community a very friendly and very noob friendly. It seems that lives on.

I’ve got about 20 unread notifications from 2017 and is very strange reading my own posts form back then, given advice. I’ve forgot that much I can’t even understand my own advice.

So much for getting wiser as you get older.

I’ve just noticed the price of seeds in the US seem to be very expensive. I -get- got mine shipped form Holland. And they are even cheaper now then in 2017.

yes buying seeds in the US can get expensive… we have several growers that have some well developed strains and they willing share those seeds if you get to know them… what’s the old saying ’ its like riding a bicycle ’ …

Very expensive, it would probably cost him more than £20 to send seeds form the IS to the UK. But yeah £20 for 5 seeds delivered seems a great deal. In 17 it was £30.
I think £20 is about 25usd at the moment. Seems

Cheers. I’m looking at getting back in my attic and clearing it up. My set up is all still in place. However we have e had a new roof put on a couple of years ago so it’s going to be a mess up there.

God knows what the roofers thought of my tents :see_no_evil_monkey:

I’ve not been up there since, they best still be there! Lol

Heers guys. Im now feeling I have to get in the attic now next week and assess the situation lol.

Most of my stuff was all connect to smart apps. Lights, thermometer, and fan controls, all before the days of home assistant or Google home. I have not of the apps, on my phone anymore (probably 5 phones ago), so I’ll have fun figuring all that out, and seeing what still works and doesn’t, across my 6 tents.

I may post about how to bring an aging set up out of retirement, and bring it it into modern home automation. Always wanted to build a auto water feature, where I’d only have to fill a feeder tankup weekly.

Oh all the old idea are coming back. It’s probably easily do able today, smart tech has come along way, and is peanuts to buy now.

This is why I stopped, It took over my life, and getting a pub is a 80 plus hour a week commitment, so I just couldn’t do both. Im free again now, working from home, so time I have again.

Welcome back @TheDuke . Looking forward to seeing your next grow.

Whoa! That sounds like quite a time commitment right there, yeah? Sounds like an auto water feature would be desirable for ya. I have two small and setting up a medium size now, wondering if I’m really going to be able to have evnough time in my day to allow for double what I’m used to.

Welcome back! Happy growing. :v:

Mine are going to look antique by now, they was cheap ones even back then. 6 tents with two on gor to be time consuming, I shall be starting with two plants, then another two in two months. That should produce enough oil to keep us going. I don’t smoke weed personally, do the oil is good for my sleep and my back, and the with is ill again so we have been buying gummies and oil to vape. So we may as well start up again, and have 100% control of what we ingest. Im also of the fags now and on the vape, feel much better for it, so I’ll be learning a new way to make my oil, I use to make it with ethanol, but I’m going to learn how to do it with VG or PG, so it can easily go into to my RDA vape.

Heat was never really an issue for me, I’d usually have them on over night, which was easier to keep the temp down, then in the day the heat coming into the attic, would stop the temp swing being so much.

In the middle of the summer I’d redirect the extractor from the show to pull heat out and keep the loft hatch open.

There was never Mish spell leakage as I had Evey tent extra t through a charcoal filter, into an empty tent then extracted out the empty tent, into and through another filter. So there wasnt really any smells, then I’d use the shower extractor druck to extract the warm air out the attic and house.

As that was summer time it didn’t effect the bathroom, like it would in the cooler months.

I’m extremely happy the reply my post has got. I’m going to report back some time next week when I get up there and assess the situation.

Welcome back. If you have trouble cracking those seeds. I use a peanut butter jar lined with sand paper. Just glue it to the sides and bottom and put the seeds in and swirl it around. The jar is pretty much good forever.
