Get you some fox farms happy frog. You wont be disappointed. My forever go to soil for most plants!
I water seedlings with a plastic squeezable pipette like this one…you can accurately control the perimeter distance , and visually see how many drops are coming out…
I dont think I’ve ever started a seedling in their forever home…
I know I have never. Always start them in a small cup for the first 2 weeks then whatever as she is strong enough now. The problem I have seen with putting a baby into a 3-5-7 gallon is usually death or if not then stunted growth. I grow photos but I know alot of folks that do autos go right into the forever home since you are restricted on timing and it works.
Yeahhh I am a complete moron. my original thought was… “Outdoor plants get big. They never get transplanted. So why not” Lol. Now I know that its probably a terrible idea. BUT here are some photos and updates for you all ![]()
The small on labeled “Runt” is actually runtz strain and only 10 days old. The OTHER one is like a month old lol and totally stunted (I managed to save it though).
NOT. Mistakes we make hmmm? Learn from them eh? All good. I have burnt plants from being too close to a light. I moved it intentionally and forgot (easy to do when you got good product) to move them back. Stuff happens. Good luck with the babies. I am into day 3 on pics of a seed to 2 week tutorial for folks that have trouble in soil. Once the 2 weeks are complete and I have a healthy baby I will post the tutorial under the seedling category.
This is how I start seedling in 5gal pots
It SERIOUSLY bothers me that everyone has like a 2ft tall 3 week old plant though lol.
Mines like… 6 inches at 1 month
Hopefully these pics help you to not be so frustrated. Here is Big Shurl at 2, 3 & 4 weeks old and she is not 2ft tall. I also do not compare my grow to anyone else’s. We all do something a bit different. Strains are different blah blah etc etc to ad infinitum. Do you and you WILL get this dialed in and be succesful!!
You are too nice!
But seriously I can’t wait to get huuuge plants lol
I’ve always started mine in their final home. Never have had an issue. I feel like it’s less stress. To each their.
These are about 3 weeks from sprouting.
Their own*
dude… does my runtz plant look small for 10 days?
lol this is so sad… my plants are tiny ![]()
Yes, it’s a little behind. But, that’s ok. It’s not to late and it’s not over yet. If at all possible, and if you do do this please be very careful, get a fan on it. You’re looking for the lightest of breeze on it. You want it so the leaves flutter just slightly and the stalk has a minimal sway. This will strengthen the stalk for better support. I know you’re disheartened from this whole ordeal. Just stay positive. Positivity is the best fertilizer. Sorry, i wish i had better advice for you…
You proved your point lmao
If that is coco it is hard to over water. I soak my coco in a bucket of water with a light dose of nutrients and a full dose of cal mg and let it sit for a few hrs and then right into the grow container and let it sit and dry out for a day and then plant my sprouted seeds directly into it and that is with auto’s that are fussy with too much water. I use mother earth coco with a lot of pearlite though. It doesn’t look like not enough light as the seedling will just stretch out and fall over because the stem is too long. Is your water treated with chorine or chlorimine?
So, I am not going to pretend that I know anything as I am on my first grow. I experienced the same thing on the first two seeds I dropped. I started over with some very basic organic soil like you would start tomatoes in along with a small fluorescent light off Amazon. I did not done them but I did use a cup to put over the seedling then gave two to three spritz of water once every couple of days. Also i used a small seedling cup made from peat for their initial container thus way when it was time to repot cup and all went into the new pot. This is them now.
Agreed. But I came to learn that some folks fudge the numbers a bit. Biology has its limits and while cannabis can grow fast its not gonna produce some of the plants that are supposedly 3 weeks old that we see.
Stuff like “Here is my plant at 3 weeks!”
Ok, So I over exaggerated that, But you get the point.
I had to learn to give them the best consistent environment from day 1 before I saw them do best.
You will figure that out too.
You all are so awesome haha. I do understand this is a learning experience. But those seeeedz are expensive ![]()
