I read a small section of the CCi book for free and I was amazed by direct details, exact amounts of nutrients, what soils or dwc or coco and how to process them broken down into very easy steps. So, I went to purchase the book, I went to the site and happy to see a %10 discount! Woohoo. And then I saw the price… $221 AFTER DISCOUNT, for a paper back book that they want you to download and not even receive, I’m not positive but I think for physical copy it’s full price.
Has anyone followed this book? Is this outrageous price actually worth it?
The selling points for me 1. A step by step guide from 1 person that breaks down every single step including trouble shooting 2. Educating myself further on a subject I take interest in and have invest alot of money into 3. Learning new and better ways to care for my plants, increase yields, stop wasting material or buying stuff that’s not needed
That’s expensive.
When you get it post it up and we can have a look…
I just don’t know if it would be worth the investment for a small timer like myself. It doesn’t say if the advice given is for home growers or commercial type or both. The small sections I have been able to read for free were jam packed with great information on clones, how to set them up and get going etc. That’s why I am reaching out to anyone who has read the book, in their opinion was it worth so much $$$
Can’t help with the book. I’m new to this as well.
Good Luck and lets us know if you get it
If you learn how to navigate this site , you will have all of the information that you are looking for , for free…
If its been done or tryed before , its been posted on this site…
There is so much information out there just floating around…
I have not read that book , so no help there…
I feel like you could find all of the information you want just by looking around…
100% agree!
We live in the age of information. It’s free and widely available across the internet.
220$ seems like a get rich quick scheme to me.
The absolute best way to obtain information is by doing and failing. No book can provide that. It has all the answers. The real learning is in failure.
I vote spend it on seeds.
I second this…
Also gotta agree with @peachfuzz on this. Learn to use the site and all the info you could ever need is right here. If you really want a good book there’s plenty out there for cheaper. My library has a bunch of solid growing books (both regular gardening and cannabis) so you could always check out your local library. Also the ilgm guide is pretty solid for general info.
But this forum will give you all the info you need. Good luck growing!!!
It sounds good but there are free books available from ILGM and live experience from growers who have learned from personal experience and I think that knowledge can’t have a price put on it. Good luck on your decision…
Save your money stick around Lots of advanced growers right here with good info that has been there an done that. Grow Grow Grow And continue to sharpen your skills.
HAPPY GROWING !
This forum definitely has a mass of Information. I try to take all the advice and apply it as best as I can. Sometimes it works brilliantly and sometimes it doesn’t. I was having a leaf issue and a gentleman recommended an inline filter for outdoor hose, man let me tell you… That filter saved my plants. I added the filter and a bubbler and they took off. They were getting to much chlorine from tap, so successful grows definitely come by reading more and learning as I go
It’s definitely worth getting your hands dirty. Even commercial level, super scientific growers hit their speed bumps.
Not sure everything in there would apply to what your experience might be…. If I may, I would suggest leveraging the community here to strengthen your grow.
I would start by asking folks about your set up, then your medium, then your feeding plan. From there if issues pop up, you could ask for help.
Its free and everyone shares your interest, so you find a lot of folks keen to help…bonus is you can spend the 225 on extra stuff to help you grow rather than paper for your composting after round one.
Agree with you percent… well said…
Great support and new “friendships” on the group @Alldogsfamily
Happy growing…
This is a late response, but I feel it’s necessary to share my thoughts. When a group of people all make the same claim, it should be considered. However, this also gives us more reason to question what’s being said. Personally, I have encountered a lot of misinformation from the community. That doesn’t mean that everyone here is wrong; rather, it highlights that everything is situational. This is why they encourage frequent posting—when you have issues, the different methods of growing this plant mean that advice that is good for one person may not be suitable for you.
So, I suggest you buy this book. Do I think you absolutely need it? No, because there’s plenty of information available; if someone has written a book on the topic, you can find what you’re looking for elsewhere. If you’re looking for a more affordable option, consider “Yield Science.” It’s essentially covering the same material.
What you are really paying for in these books is convenience. It’s similar to choosing between a warm Coke and a chilled one; the cold Coke might be at the front of the store, while the warm one is in the back. One is cold and ready to drink on you have to wait a little bit. These books gather the information you need and present it all in one place. All you have to do is read it.
Sorry couldn’t resist. Personally I wouldn’t buy it but to each their own.
I honestly doubt theres any information in there you cant get for free on here or else where on the internet so what i would ask myself is Does this provide $225 dollars worth of ease of convenience over just looking on line for an answer to a question you have no book can contain a perfect feedig scheduel or the perfect amout of nutrients at points x y z for every plant theres just to much genetic diversity in cannabis for it to be accurate like that nothing contained printed or published anywhere including on ILGM should ever be taken as more than a general guidline or starting point of reference
Exactly, the forum is a place to trade experiences and people need to apply that experence to their own situation.
I got the Cannabis Grow Bible when I started under 30 bucks. Kind of a history of growing, full processes and good pics. Its a good reference sometime, I prefer the forums.
